“Awful”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013 via mobile

I stayed at this hotel with my sister for one week and it felt like the longest week of our lives. We couldn't wait to get home.
On arrival we were given our room keys at reception. The lady wasn't very informative and failed to give us our all inclusive waistbands. Although this was delt with quickly she was very rude and was made to feel more like a nuisance than a guest.
Our room; we had a twin room which was located near the beach which was good. However we lacked an information folder about the hotel, our phone and dvd player didn't work, the beds were uncomfortable and the air conditioning unit was leaking on the balcony, so the floor was permanently wet.
The service; Nothing to fault here. The maids came in every day and remade the beds, changed the bathroom towels, restocked toilet roll and soap and took heed to the 'do not disturb sign'.
The food; This was probably the most disappointing part of our holiday. The hot food was of poor quality and lacked any real choice and that was when it was cooked properly (On two occasions we ended up with chicken that was raw in the middle) I resorted to eating salad through out the holiday which was ok but not what id expected from an all inclusive holiday. The worst part was the sheer amount of flies in the dining room area. There were at least five on each table you went to sit at (no exaggeration) and was wafting them away continuously whilst trying to eat.
Entertainment; We only saw the Latin night held on a Sunday so can only comment about this and it was awful. It honestly felt like we were watching salsa dance lessons.
If i could sum this holiday up in one word it would be, dire. Don't do it, take your money elsewhere. We certainly will not be returning to this hell hole.

We had a 6 nights holiday at Aquis Sandy beach resort with my wife and my little child.
First impresion: the room was very dated and worn. The bathroom definitely needs an update. Old pipes and previous fittings are still visible along with residue and rust.
On our day of arrival we didn't have hot water till next day. The air conditionind didn't worked. This problem was finally fixed after 4 days and numerous visits to reception.
i had bugs and lot of mosquitos in the room.
The food was basic and limited. for example: one choice of poached white fish at most for those who prefer seafood for example. The coffee/tea, and other bevarage is self serviced by a 2 or 3 machines. food refill was too heavy.
We won't return.

I will be as honest as I can as I would expect others to do so. My wife and I stayed at the Aquis in the first two weeks of June for 14 nights all inclusive. The location was perfect right on the beach(sunbeds and parasol for hire at 6 euros for the lot per day) which was run by a great Guy who was very friendly. If you go down later he reduces the price accordingly. The meals were fine and the drink was on tap but there was not much organisation and it felt like it was a free for all especially when there were kids doing whatever they liked and who usually dropped most of their food(this was more to do with the parenting than the staff). The room was tired and the bed was horrendous - I told the lady at reception who had toppers placed on the mattresses but it was still uncomfortable. Service was excellent, beds made everyday and towels replaced daily. All the bars were fine and a special mention has to be made to Spiros at the pool bar and to Nikodimus at the Andromeda bar .Nikodimus proved yet again to my wife and I that the Greek people are one of the friendliest people on the planet where nothing is a problem and who would go out of their way to help you at any given time. You could see what Aquis was trying to achieve here and given their track record they will achieve the best for this resort . The entertainment was fine if a little short at nights but typically holiday cabaret style which again was fine for us. Even though all inclusive you have to get out and about and see some of the island and the local tavernas too. I could single out a restaurant but that would be unfair to the others as they were equally as good. One thing you can be assured of is that you will be made to feel welcome and have a good vacation.

Room Tip: go for a first floor sea view as near to the beach as possible-brilliant sunsets!

Stayed at the Aquis sandy beach at the end of may for one week.Overall we enjoyed our stay It is not very wheel chair friendly for one of our party like in the room it was a bath and not a walk in shower and access to the beach was bad but that was our only gripe the resort was nice but looking very tired the beach was nice with all the usual water sports. The hotel was very busy it is a very large complex especially chaotic at meal times. But the food was plentiful and edible would not go back to this resort would try somewhere else in corfu but as I said did enjoy it.

just returned from an 11 night stay at aquis sandy beach, and cannot fault anything from the excellent and varied food to the immaculately maintained grounds and rooms.
all staff were polite and helpful, and all inclusive was excellent, good choice of drinks (metaxa and coke very moreish), evening entertainment was ok -usual stuff, dancers singers etc-the 3 divos were good.
As mentioned by other reviewers the resort is very isolated and is ideal for a quiet chillout break-not really for those wanting a vibrant nightlife!
Lovely sandy beach-2 x sunbeds and parasol 6 euros per day-worth it for the lovely sea breeze, or you can stay by the 3 lovely hotel pools at no cost.
We would advise anyone to take a good mosquito spray with DEET as the little critters are hungry-my husband got about 12 bites on the first night-we hadn't as yet unpacked the mozzie spray!
The sun can be fierce so take care with sunscreen, also take plenty clothes hangers as we only had a couple in the room.
On a different subject please be aware if you are planning to take a boat trip to paxos be aware that the sea can become VERY rough as we found to our cost-they will sail whatever the conditions-it was truly horrendous so take some travel pills with you just in case.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: we requested a quiet room and got no 912-which is just as you enter resort-a short walk from restau...

Shabby bathroom. No hot water for first day. Rusting sediment covered old fittings still visible. Old and worn shower system. Bath sealant looks to have been applied with a stick. Wires and fittings from previous cupboard still hanging. Bed sheets too small for the bed. Often woke on bare mattress used by numerous previous visitors - ridiculous and so unhygienic. It seems there is a newer built area which is better quality. We were clearly put in the old rough end so beware.
Food in canteen (it's not a restaurant) very bland/basic and only one chioce of seafood which was always a poached white fish in sauce. Not even a shrimp in sight. Vegetarians avoid.
Cutlery often dirty always had to check. Self serve coffee machines often empty or broken down.
Nesting larks with droppings in canteen rafters above permanent food trolly.
Felt sorry for overworked staff who did their best in the bedlam. They were often stressed and barman told me he had to serve cocktails, collect and clean glasses by himself. He was very unhappy there.
Plenty of activities for children if needed.
Beach is fine for swimming so at least that was a plus.
We paid for a 4 star experience and feel ripped off.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for one week in May 2013. We were a group aged between 24 and 65 and we all enjoyed our stay, although I would not recommend this for a group of twenty somethings as there is little to do in the nearby town. The location is good as directly on a pleasant beach. We found the all inclusive to be of a good standard, no real complaints. Our accommodation was very good....we were up at the beach end ....the rooms were of a very good standard. Entertainment was not good but this wasn't an important element of the holiday for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and the more mature traveller, but not necessarily for the young hip and happening people!
