Ibiza is dead off season.....it is different and interesting and I have a few friends here but would not go in the winter especially January or February as it is just depressing to see this place in 40deg F weather. That said we had the main lounge to ourselves complete with private bartender and billiard table when I stayed in February.
The grounds of the hotel and the pool are still one of the best properties in all Ibiza. Likewise the upscale rooms with balcony and Oceanside are worth the extra money if only to sit with a glass of wine and relax and watch the sunset.
The Internet was super fast.. But maybe because no one was in the hotel (30% occupancy I was told).
One thing to note was the general geriatric feel to the place. The rooms are better but the hotel is definitely dated in feeling. Also seems to cater to a slightly older crowd. At 40yo myself I felt I was the youngest in the hotel by 20years. We had a good time with friends on the balcony though.
The decor of the main hotel looks like it has not changed in 40years.... Although at that. Time it was as hip as can be. Still care is taken to put lit candles on every table at night.
Rooms are better.... Spacious with hardwood or pergo floors and updated baths. Old furnishings and old TV so there is room to improve.
