“Unique experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

I stood 3 nights in this hotel with my girlfriend. This was my 2nd time in Ibiza and I had a much better experience than my first. The hotel is quiet and somewhat away from all the hustle and bustle of Ibiza town but still within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful all around. The hotel is small and cozy and we felt at home. We had an incident where the lock on our door broke and the hotel upgraded us to a suite! It was an accident but it was nice to feel taken care of and that it what a quality hotel should do. The walk up to the top can be a drag but it also adds to the beauty of place. It sits a top a world heritage site and offers amazing views down onto the harbor. Be aware that taxis don't like dropping you off at the top because of the narrow streets and historic buildings- so you will have to walk a bit. The pool area was under construction but looked beautiful. I would stay here again for a quiet romatic stay. Perfect for a special occasion. The hotel also offers club tickets and will accommodate you as best they can with reservations. If you are looking to go crazy in Ibiza this isn't the place- but perfect for a mix of fun and relaxation . Trendy place with class. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Junior suite offers amazing views!

Hotel LA TORRE DEL CANONIGO provides a wonderful experience. Nestled amongst the winding streets of Ibiza Old Town it has genuine character and offers a rustic opulence in-tune with the architecture and aesthetics of 14th Century Spain. The 'superior' room which I slept in with my girlfriend had a great balcony offering views of the port and Ibiza town, and we enjoyed the décor and amenities; which were all up to standard. The Staff were incredibly helpful and also very knowledgeable regarding the local area. Our host, Marina, went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and provided us with the information we required to make our trip a truly memorable experience. A million thanks to hotel LA TORRE DEL CANONIGO for helping make our holiday so superb!!!

The staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is beautifully situated in the middle of the old town. It is very tastefully decorated and many of the rooms a terrace or a balcony. We loved taking breakfast down on the pool terrace with views across the coast and the city and we discovered before we left that the roof terrace would also be a great place for breakfast or evening aperitifs.

Our room (3) was small by comparison with others in the hotel and the bathroom badly in need of renovating with no ventilation. Our friends were in room 7 which was beautiful. Although taxis don't like coming all the way to the hotel because of the extremely narrow streets, the hotel shuttle was a very expensive alternative - more than double the local taxis. Taxi drivers will collect and drop at La Monkas church which is only a short walk away. However, for this reason the hotel is not appropriate for anyone with mobility issues; the streets in the old town are steep, cobbled and very slippery. If you have the right shoes you will love walking around all the little old streets.

A taxi takes 10 - 15 minutes from the airport and cost us 15 euros. The bus was much cheaper but took an hour.

Room Tip: avoid room 3 until bathroom has been renovated

My girlfriend and I stayed at "La Torre del Canonigo" during our brief stay in Ibiza. The hotel is everything it says it is. Words can't really describe the character of this place, but it definitely makes you feel like you've left the real world for 14th century Spain. The location is excellent, being in the old part of town, at the top of the hill. It's steps away from the cathedral, which offers an incredible view of the port. The staff are incredible, and willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay memorable. The manager, Bernardo, is a fantastic person to deal with, and very knowledgeable about the island, and its sights and sounds. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to travel to Ibiza, but looking to avoid the crazyness. I can't wait to go back!

If you like amazing views, comfort, friendly and helpful hotel staff, and staying in historic buildings, this is the place. I have traveled to many countries and islands and stayed in no-stars to 5 stars. Last July, I lucked-out when I walked in through that old wooden door, high up on the hill in the old town. It's close and yet far from the craziness down in Ibiza Town. The narrow, cobble-stone street is restricted to hotel guests and local residents. A few yards away is the historic old cathedral, and a few yards more you find yourself on a magnificent walkway along the massive battlements overlooking the sea. My room was very comfortable and clean with a large bathroom with a nice, big bath. I felt compelled to write a review when I read some comments from people who expect everything to be perfect. The staff were always helpful, the breakfast was very good, and I had no complaints. This is a unique hotel of great character. One note of caution: The road up to the hotel is narrow and slippery because of the old cobblestones. Rent a very small car, or park the car below and they will pick you up for the last 150 meters. Or walk up. There's an easy to find short cut

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room there. And it's quiet.

Thank you very much for your opinion! We are pleased to know that our staff is helpful and your room clean. We try our best for our guests comfort. Regarding to the narrow streets, that's something that we cannot solve and that is why we always recommend our private transfer. Otherwise, you should get a small car as you said. Thanks again and hope to see you back!

We are a small family (parents and one child aged nine) who have travelled extensively and stayed in many hotels. We found the Torre del Canoningo enchanting in every way. We were met at the airport by Sam who was efficient, courteous and cheerful. On arriving at the hotel, Naihara was on reception and quickly did the registration while Sam kindly took our bags up to the room. We had a beautiful room (more like a suite, really) with views overlooking the street at the front and the harbour at the back.

The bed was extremely comfortable and a small bed was made up for our nine-year old in the living room at the back. We would have to agree with the point made by another poster that the pillows were a little lumpy and could be better - but that was the only thing that we can think of that could have been improved. We all slept very well and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast before heading off to explore the island. Both Sam and Naihara provided us with excellent suggestions for places to see and places to eat, and each one of them was wonderful. We had a rental car from BK cars which was recommended by the team at the hotel. That too worked out fine and thanks to the hotel we had a pass to drive into 'Dalt Vila' which meant that we could drive right up to the hotel and park around the corner by the cathedral.

The location in the old town was fine for us: we enjoyed the stroll down to go to eat in the evening and the way back up was never a problemeven with a child. We stayed three nights and felt that we had had a really excellent break away from Londonn which was very cold at that time (April 2013).

We did not use the pool as this early in the season it was not warm enough but it looks enticing and a wonderful place to lounge around in warmer weather.

We are looking forward to going back and in the meantime highly recommend the hotel. It is a beautifully furnished old house and all the staff that we encountered were helpful, engaging and creative.

Hi Dominicq! first of all, thank you very much for your opinion and you should know that it was also a pleasure for us to be at your disposal during your stay in Ibiza. Your kid was really lovely and very polite despite of his short age. Adorable! I hope to see you back again soon and let me inform you that we have already ordered some new pillows for you to sleep more comfortable next time. All of them will be new. Don´t stop travelling and com back to visit us again. It was a pleasure!

We spend a week in La Torre Del Cannonigo and we had a lovely stay. The staff is very friendly and professional. Our room was on the first floor, so quite close to the street but in march it's not a problem because it's very quiet. I guess in high season it might be different. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was very confortable. I recommend this hotel for people who want to discover a more typical and more historical side if Ibiza. It's lovely to stay up there next to the wonderful Cathedral and to walk up and down to cute streets at night and day. It's a little walk but worth it, and you can also go up by car which is quite fun!
I also recommend the breakfasts. They are delicious and worth the price + you have the beautiful view.

Thank you very much for your positive opinion! I am glad to know you liked the decor and the breakfast. We try to offer quality and variety! About the calm in the room, I can tell you that it is the same in the high season since there is only quiet people having a walk around. You can come back and check! we will be pleased to service you again!
