Beautiful views, lovely white sailcloth canopies, candle-lit tables under the boughs as evening settles in over Ibiza's old town center. It was pure magic. A bit of a hike up to get there, but well worth it. The diners were well behaved and well heeled in comparison to the crowds of cheap tourism down by the harbor. The very pleasant atmosphere was matched by a very kind and attentive waiter. There were some delays with the desert orders, but they were truly apologetic about it. We had very nice fish dishes, particularly the monkfish (rape) with its nicely crispy sautéed fresh vegetables, the sea bass (lubina), and even the hake (merluza).
The wine list was extensive enough to have fun choosing something new but also had many old standards.
I recommended this place to a friend who went there this month. He looked at it during lunchtime and found it pretty awful, but went back at dinnertime and said it was completely different and as enchanting as I had said. He and his wife had a fabulous dinner, glad they had come back in the evening.
