“Playa de Ajabo and the beach bar, Callao Salvaje”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Beautiful views of ocean, landscaped walkways and the beach - a pretty beach - not yellow sand - but then it is a volcanic island. Food in the bar is tasty and substantial particularly for a beach bar and very enjoyable. Well done Callao ... !! The most enjoyable feeling for me is feeling the breeze off the sea and just sitting there chilling, listening to the waves and pondering on life .. from a detached viewpoint.

“Clean and tidy beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Now you can grab yourself a sun lounger and umbrella and get Burger & Chips with a Beer for just 2.75 Euros, a bargain.

“Nice beach if you plan to swim”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

The beach itself are rocky with a lot of sharpish volcano sand and small rocks.
But the beach has sun beds and are close to the small village of Callao Salvaje.
The water outside are challenging with nice waves and the beach area would turn out nice if they manage to clean away the biggest pebble and fill in a little finegrained sand. The environment are quite nice and the beach area are seldom crowded.

“Clean beach, free sunbeds!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

We visited the beach once and enjoyed it, the sun beds are free for now which is excellent. The have done an excellent job upgrading beach and would recommend going although I can comment of what the water is like as I didn't go in but is was always busy.

“Not what we expected of a new beach.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

This was one of the worst beaches that we have ever been to. Before booking in Callao Salvaje we looked up the beach and finding that it had a brand new beach thought that we would spend some time at it. When we first got to the beach you could see that a lot of work had been done on building walls and walkways down to the beach but as soon as we got to the sand our disappointment started. Most of the sand was not sand but small sharp shale and not the soft volcanic sand that can be found on other beaches on the island. As we got to the shore line it was littered with rubbish and plastic bags and had to tell our two children to watch were they were walking. We did eventually find a sandy patch for the children to play but we did not say long and never visited it again during our stay.
