“Excellent apartments but better suited to older visitors and families”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Good apartments Well kitted with kitchens and all necessary utensils. The rooms are tidy and hotel facilities fairly average. Two good sized pools and some organised activities. Callao Salvaje is an OK little town but fairly isolated. A few good restaurants nearby but not a lot else. I would not recommend for youngsters, we got fairly bored in the evenings. A car is fairly essential to get to shops for food and escape to more interesting places during the day time.

Room Tip: As far as I am aware all rooms have a balcony and pool view. The rooms are very large.

Me and my wife have returned to Tropical Park for the fourth time. Therooms have been upgraded since our last visit. This includes new sockets in room, flat screen TV, better Wi Fi , although still a bit slow, but cost me 15 Euros for the week. All is still kept very clean and everyone is nice and friendly. No hot water on day 2 but repair man came out straightaway and replaced a defective thermostat.
Highly recommended for a nice peaceful holiday to a nice area of Tenerife.

Room Tip: All room look good

Had a great 4 weeks. Beach finished and looking good. English telly at last. Really enjoyed ourselves. Will be back again next year. Not too busy a village and quite a haul up the hill but really suits us.

if you want a good holiday try this place, the staff were all very helpful and the place was kept very clean. Towels and bed linen changed regularly and the apt brushed out and mopped every day. We were self catering and its amenities were adequate but it has a very good resturant at night and during the day the snack bar is good too-- especially thier tapas at just 1Euro each...Brill... Around the pool is great for kids it has green carpet type covering so NO wet slippery tiles when wee ones are running about. There is plenty of activities as well and the cabaret at night is to a very good standard.
If you dont want to stay in the hotel there are some bars, good resturants and a fabby Karaoka bar with Chris as DJ great nights were had there.....We will be back.... soon I hope

Room Tip: All rooms face the sun although you don,t always see the pool the rest have a good outlook of garden...

My husband and I have just stayed at Tropical Park for two weeks and had a great holiday. We have a few gripes but the good outweighted the bad. This place just has a great atmosphere to it and the waiters and waitresses are exceptional. It's very clean and the apartments are a good size as are the balconies and all with a good view. We have been here three times now and enjoyed every time although the evening menu has changed, it is la a carte and expensive. The daytime menu finishes at 4.30 and we asked if we could order from that in the evening, the answer was no. The christmas lunch and evening dinner were superb and a great party was put on. There are three supermarkets in the vicinity with everything you need esp if you are self catering. There are alot of steps but also lots of ramps for disabled people. The beds are two twins put together which we found annoying because we kept having to watch the gap!. The restaurant at the end that was mentioned just previously on here is excellent. Had three meals in there and they were all fantastic and the service was great and entertainment good. You do get a feel that the time share people are looked after better along with the spanish and the staff do not give you enough information so you are always having to ask but this place is worth at least three stars. It's comfortable and we had the greatest holiday. We will be returning.

Room Tip: All the rooms are the same, but if you want to be in the centre of everything, choose a room in the...

Having stayed before, we knew the complex and resort well. However it seems to be marking time and not really trying to satisfy customers; umbrellas had to be hired- not at problem- except carrying them up three flights of stairs is;lunch menu is good value while evening is probably the most expensive in resort!; WIFI expensive - free in Bars; No English TV but plenty of English movies in German! No DVD player;cleaning of kitchen drawers could be better
Asked at welcome meeting about buying meat/chicken and suggestion was a taxi ride to supermarket..... even though there is a French butcher 50 metres away! and two French bakers!
Steps everywhere but no porter
Swimming pools definitely not heated and no aircon

Room Tip: Check beforehand what you are getting and ask for map

These are mostly time share apartments. This is the reason given when, on 11 December, the management said they were "full" and only a quarter were occupied!
We had 203, which connects to 201 and are closest to the disco loudspeakers. The entertainment artistes were mostly unacceptable at this close quarter and spoiled candlelit balcony evenings, except for a Spanish girl singer on Saturday and an excellent guitarist on Wednesday .
The flats are very clean, very well stocked with equipment for self catering. Just bring your own tea, salt, pepper, etc. and hair dryer. They have a good cooker, hob, microwave and toaster.
Decoration and drapery is of good quality but poor taste. Bathroom is good, with plenty of towels and hot water, and hoorah! a bidet.
Typical for Spain, the plumbing of wastes is poor, so it is common to have drain smells. Keep all the plugs in and stuff something in the overflows 24/7 to prevent bad smells.
Hotel has a dive school on site. There is a jacuzzi and sauna, but you have to pay extra!. You pay also 15 euro for a weeks use of safe box and 25 for broadband. These charges are excessive!!
Bring a smartphone and use 3G internet, it is cheaper. Vodafone signal is brilliant everywhere, including on top of Teide at 12250 feet!! much better than UK coverage.
TV is very good but completely useless for Brits. They do not pick up any BBC or ITV stations whatsoever!! Lack of thought by management. ( I did try retuning, but a waste of time)
Bring something to play DVDs, as there is a small library in the "public relations???" room below room 201, with novels and discs to borrow.
Excellent 2 pools with baby areas. Warm enough in December. Lifeguard on duty daylight hours,"nice young man!"
Beach is just down the hill, but take care! the Atlantic swell can whip your feet away and dump you out out of your depth in a second at low tide. There was no life guard in 2012.
Restaurant had NOTHING for vegetarians. Bowl of chips on first night took 45 mins. Never went again. Cafe at the bottom of the road is really excellent, "Casa Maria" An amazing team !

Room Tip: Depends if you want to hear the entertainment. If you do, then odds lowest numbers are closest to th...
