Stayed at the Big village hotel in Skala for 2 weeks. We had a lovely big room (try and request room numbers 201 - 204) the room had a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities, also a/c and a safe which you pay for locally if you use them.
Breakfast was continental style with plenty of choice, we got abit bored with it and went out several times for breakfast. Lovely swimming pool and bar area which serves snacks reasonably priced and good. Only problem is that the pool is used by anyone who wants to and there are alot of properties in Skala that don't have a pool. The big village hotel is very small only 18 rooms which we preferred.
Skala is a big resort for Kefalonia there are several bars, restaurants and 1 nightclub. Skala is not the place for anyone wanting a busy nightlife or for groups of young people. Kefalonia isn't the place for that type of person. I pity anyone staying in Svoronnata or Katelios unless ofcourse you don't mind being in the middle of nowhere with not alot to do.
I am a travel agent and would definately recommend the Big Village hotel in Skala to my clients and to anyone who may read this review.
