“Loved our stay but where was the promised entertainment?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2010

This is our 10th year coming to Skala and our second time this year as we came in June, as well but stayed at the 9 Muses, which we will never do again as we are not yet ready to die. We decided to try Anassa this time around because it was where we ended up going for our nights out because 9 Muses was for the elderly and the sleepy.
Hercules and his staff were simply amazing and we cannot say enough about the atmophere, the drinks or the food served at the bar or at the pool, which is also lovely. `
The rooms are very clean and cozy and the
entire hotel has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The one thing that did annoy us was that we chose Anassa because of the entertainment we saw there in June an amazing American fellow who had the place jumping so much that we have not stopped talking about it. However, this time around he was cancelled because the people at 9 Muses threatened the owners? What is that about? Why are George and Effi and Hercules allowing themselves to be bullied?
Skala needs some life. It's a beautiful place but it can be very boring. Anassa used to have something different but while we loved our stay we were sorely disappointed that Anassa is now a place for Pensioners as well. Get the entertainment back and stop letting yourselves be pushed around!

Greek night on Monday evenings fantastic with the owners joining in. We were on honeymoon and it was made special by the welcome and the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. The pool is extra relaxing since it over looks the sea front. A short 5/10 min walk in to skala town for the shops and bars. Plenty to choose. Highly recommend the Galleria restaurant which is in a side road off the main strip, left at Sunbird hire. The hotel food is excellent quality and plenty of it. This hotel is a must for those wanting a relaxing, chilled holiday with some fun evenings thrown in. Entertainment is what you make it and 3 out of 7 nights of hotel entertainment is sufficent for this type of holiday.

Fantastic holiday, our best so far. After visiting 4 other Greek Islands previously we chose Kefalonia this year and we got the 'wow' factor. Anassa was the perfect place to stay, all the staff were brilliant with special mention to Hercules and Clare ( you guys are the best) what a fantastic job they do and with great enthusiasm which ensures you have such a great time in their company. Location is so perfect with beach 2 steps away and the pool beautifully placed to take in the view.

We went to the Anassa earlier this month with a large party for a wedding, on arrival we were greeted by the owners and the wonderful Hercules for a welcome drink. Everyone was very friendly and always around if you needed anything. The hotel was very clean and the rooms very comfortable. The pool was great and well looked after. The hotel offers an additional breakfast and snack menu which was good value and good quality. Hercules, Alice and Clare who run the bar/restaurant area are great, so friendly and helpful. The sand/shingle beach is located across a small road - beach shoes recommended! The village centre is a short walk (partly uphill) with plenty of tavernas.
While the hotel is great and recommended for adults there is nothing for teenagers other than the pool and the internet access and certainly nothing for small children although the staff are great with kids.
The only issue we all had was that the hotel advertised entertainment and apart from a football game on tv and an inpromtu karaoke hour, there was nothing. We were told that the owners had greek family (The Don and his reserved table!) staying they did not want the entertainment. If this is true, it is very disappointing as the owners have taken paying guests and not provided the facilities they promised - very poor. If we hadn't been a large party and made our own entertainment, we would have formerly complained.

Hercules and his staff put on a fantastic wedding reception - all credit to them, they worked very hard and pulled out all the stops.

We have just returned fromt he Hotel Anassa (26/08/10) and have had a FANTASTIC holiday. There were no faults at all. The weather was excellent, the hotel was very modern, clean and spacious and the owners kept it in immaculate condition. The owners were extremely friendly and always acknowledged you and met you on arrival and were also there to say bye to you at the end of the holiday. The Greek night they put on was fantastic and Hercules food was brilliant. We have no negative points at all about htis hotel and would certainly recommned and even return. All of the staff were more than polite but our special thanks are to HERCULES and CLAIRE who made our holiday special. They were always smiling and helpful and knew what drinks we wanted, especially Claire who had our drinks poured before we arrived at the bar. Alice was also very accomodating and always had a smile. I am not sure where the comments came from in June by the couple who went to the Anssa and slated Claire as to be honest we would go back to the Anassa just for Claire's personality, we CANNOT fault the hotel at all. Claire did give me a nickname but I best not say what that was !!!!The only problem with Claire was her figure she was about a size 6 but I am only joking I am jealous/joking and wish I was like that !!!

Finally, the resort was fantastic, clean beaches, quiet, lots of restaurants and the restuarants we would recommend are: Aspro Alogo (White Horse), Gourgouris and
Mikelatos Family (opposite Veto bar). We cant' remember exact spelling.
Thanks Hercules and Claire and everyone else, we love you for a perfect stay.
We woudl certainly return here for more reasons than one.
Dawn & Chris . Sheffield.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and the bar staff were great and worked very hard,
The rooms were clean but a little on the small side.Unfortunatly in the two weeks we stayed there we only had 2 nights out of 14 with entertainment....and one of them was the wedding we were attending. On questioning the reasons for this with some staff we were informed that the Managers had a few Greek guests (one of whom we named the Don) who were not in favour of it. This was not very fair to all the holiday makers that stayed in the hotel during this time not to mention the loss of money incurred by Hercules who leases the bar from the owners.
Apart from the above we had a great stay. And I would like to say a special thankyou to the waitress Alice who was so lovely.
