Having travelled to a number of Greek resorts over the last few years you come to expect fairly small, fairly basic apartments but these were one of the best I ve stayed in by far.
We were met on arrival by the ever smiling Sia, who despite being a tiny thing offered to carry our cases up the slope to the apartments :) The room, on the 2nd floor, was very spacious and clean and we had an actual double bed!! The room was cleaned daily and linens changed every few days. Yes the kitchen is small and the cooker just a hotplate but Skala is only a ten minute walk and the choice of tavernas is huge. We had great food every day, paying between 30 and 50 euros for two courses, wine and water. Who goes on hols to cook dinner???
Air con was a 40 euro charge and worth it... despite not been on all day it cooled the room very quickly. After talking to Sia about the financial constraints on greek businesses following the crash, it makes sense that they restrict use of electricity! The bathroom was clean and the shower not bad although water wasnt always red hot at the busy times...
The pool area is very quiet, think the most people we saw by it was 6... but the beach in Skala is also worth a visit as are the other local beaches.
Maria's Thursday BBQ was a good, sociable night with plenty of food and laughs as Sia tries to get her guests more familiar with the greek way of life. Despite us being late to the BBQ due to a late returning excursion, this was no problem to Maria and they quickly set us a place, sorted drinks and food. Pool bar cocktails and spirits served in lethal measures :)
All in all an excellent apartment in a lovely, quiet location.
