keep it simple. bad points . 1 wasps ( will ruin your breakfast) 2. evening bar service ( poor to non existent) 3. the breakfast itself ( fairly standard buy not great) good points. 1.the view 2. cleanliness 3. pool area and the pool itself ( really relaxing, quiet and clean) 4. rooms were spacious and clean 5. owners really friendly. the walk back to the hotel from the town centre takes about 15 minutes and up a fairly steep hill but you wouldn't get the views otherwise. this can be remedied by getting a taxi for 5 euros. all in all a lovely holiday which would have been great but for a small couple of things which could easily be altered.

Room Tip: all rooms have sea views

Just returned from our two week stay at the Livadaki Village Hotel in Skala. We had a wonderful time. Sophia is the perfect host and never tired of all our questions about Kefalonia. The accommodation was just right for us. It was clean and we had a regular supply of clean towels and our bed linen was changed twice a week. We had a family room as our daughter of 26 came with us. This was plenty large enough for the three of us. The bathroom was much improved from our last visit to a Greek Island 28 years ago! The walk from the town to the hotel was a bit daunting but well worth the €5 we paid on most evenings to the taxi driver. We did walk it though, just to say that we could! Whilst we were there, we experienced our first earthquake, which was quite unnerving to say the least, but was to be expected in that part of the world. The locals don't seem to worry about it as it happens regularly, apparently. The only downside we could say was that the breakfast was very repetitious, and after 12 days we decided to have a local English Breakfast, just for a change. Nevertheless, we aren't boring English people abroad, and are quite happy to go along with the continental type of breakfast. We would definitely recommend the Livadaki to anyone and are sure you would love it like we did. We decided to pay for the air conditioning because it was still very hot at night.

PS a special thank you to Lucy who brought us a small table from outside into the restaurant area because the wasps were getting too interested in us. She was a star.

Room Tip: Although most of the rooms have sea views, of a type, we paid extra for a sea view and could experie...

We spent a wonderful week at the Livadaki with our 9 year old son, the room was an ample size, air con is a must(at an extra charge 45 euros ) as it was stifling when we arrived at 10.30pm, the journey from the airport is approx. 1hr 20 mins on small bendy roads, I would recommend anyone who travels from travel sickness to take some 'Kalms' before the journey :(
The views are stunning, with a pleasant stroll down the hill to Scala, we enjoyed the walk back each evening just to walk off the delicious meals at the variety of tavernas available, loved the Flamingo with its lovely surroundings.
The breakfast basic, 1 choice of cereal, slices of ham and cheese, toast, fresh oranges, squash, tea and coffee, quite ample for us ..
Sophia was a marvellous host, she was extremely helpful, we hired a open top jeep for two days (140 euros) she offered the use of 2 sun brollies (which were extremely useful) and advised us of the best beaches, the caves are a must, fascinating....
We have no interest in t.v and internet whilst on holiday so cannot comment on these facilities.
We enjoyed the glass bottom boat trip,( an hour on the bus} to Aghastoli lovely bbq on the beach, stunning scenery, snorkelling and swimming lovely day...
We would definitely recommend this holiday for families or couples ...

Room Tip: Room 214 has a very small balcony, not really suitable for a family...

Just back from a wonderful week at The Livadaki with my wife and 2 girls 19 and 14, first time in Greece so did not know what to expect but can honestly say the hotel is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday.Rooms very clean and comfortable and stunning views from some.Pool area and terrace kept clean and tidy and again beautiful views over Skala and the sea.During the day it is peaceful and never a problem to find a sunbed and at night a really quiet retreat from the Tavernas in Skala,,,,nice selection of places to eat and drink...Old Village, Mikalatos Family, Socrates, Makis in Skala are good and the Taverna up in old Skala is nice with amazing views whilst you dine, also Nautilus which is just out of Skala is worth a visit for good fresh seafood overlooking the sea in a boat shaped restaurant.
Do get up early at least once and see the sunrise...it is worth it.
The add ons for Air Con etc were far outweighed by the peacefulness of the place and the friendliness of Sofia and her staff and as for the hill... its not too bad and if you don't feel like a walk it is 5 Euros for a taxi.
Would I return....most definitely !!!!!!

I stayed here with my 2 children (14 and 9) and it was just right for us. Sofia, the owner is kind and It is clean and simple. Things are not perfect, the internet is very temperamental and our TV didn't work...but we didn't care. I liked it's position just out of the resort. The walk is so hot up the hill in the midday sun but past lots of nature, (interesting plants, giant ants etc) to keep us entertained and it's very beautiful under the star lit night sky. Hiring a car is a must..a wonderful Island to explore.

Just returned from one week at the Livadaki - first time at this Hotel & we will return in the future. Can't fault the Hotel at all - rooms were very clean, staff were always friendly & accommodating, the gardens are well kept & the view from the pool area is spectacular. Continental breakfast is adequate although would liked to have had a little more of a selection. We didn't use the available room AC however others led us to believe it can be quite expensive. The hotel is at the top of a hill however it's only a 10 min. walk to the main coast road & a further few minutes to the town centre. We used the local taxi service to return (5 Euros) given that our knees are not what they used to be !! Would recommend this hotel.
