We spent a wonderful week at the Livadaki with our 9 year old son, the room was an ample size, air con is a must(at an extra charge 45 euros ) as it was stifling when we arrived at 10.30pm, the journey from the airport is approx. 1hr 20 mins on small bendy roads, I would recommend anyone who travels from travel sickness to take some 'Kalms' before the journey :(
The views are stunning, with a pleasant stroll down the hill to Scala, we enjoyed the walk back each evening just to walk off the delicious meals at the variety of tavernas available, loved the Flamingo with its lovely surroundings.
The breakfast basic, 1 choice of cereal, slices of ham and cheese, toast, fresh oranges, squash, tea and coffee, quite ample for us ..
Sophia was a marvellous host, she was extremely helpful, we hired a open top jeep for two days (140 euros) she offered the use of 2 sun brollies (which were extremely useful) and advised us of the best beaches, the caves are a must, fascinating....
We have no interest in t.v and internet whilst on holiday so cannot comment on these facilities.
We enjoyed the glass bottom boat trip,( an hour on the bus} to Aghastoli lovely bbq on the beach, stunning scenery, snorkelling and swimming lovely day...
We would definitely recommend this holiday for families or couples ...

Room Tip: Room 214 has a very small balcony, not really suitable for a family...

Just back from a wonderful week at The Livadaki with my wife and 2 girls 19 and 14, first time in Greece so did not know what to expect but can honestly say the hotel is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday.Rooms very clean and comfortable and stunning views from some.Pool area and terrace kept clean and tidy and again beautiful views over Skala and the sea.During the day it is peaceful and never a problem to find a sunbed and at night a really quiet retreat from the Tavernas in Skala,,,,nice selection of places to eat and drink...Old Village, Mikalatos Family, Socrates, Makis in Skala are good and the Taverna up in old Skala is nice with amazing views whilst you dine, also Nautilus which is just out of Skala is worth a visit for good fresh seafood overlooking the sea in a boat shaped restaurant.
Do get up early at least once and see the sunrise...it is worth it.
The add ons for Air Con etc were far outweighed by the peacefulness of the place and the friendliness of Sofia and her staff and as for the hill... its not too bad and if you don't feel like a walk it is 5 Euros for a taxi.
Would I return....most definitely !!!!!!

I stayed here with my 2 children (14 and 9) and it was just right for us. Sofia, the owner is kind and It is clean and simple. Things are not perfect, the internet is very temperamental and our TV didn't work...but we didn't care. I liked it's position just out of the resort. The walk is so hot up the hill in the midday sun but past lots of nature, (interesting plants, giant ants etc) to keep us entertained and it's very beautiful under the star lit night sky. Hiring a car is a must..a wonderful Island to explore.

Just returned from one week at the Livadaki - first time at this Hotel & we will return in the future. Can't fault the Hotel at all - rooms were very clean, staff were always friendly & accommodating, the gardens are well kept & the view from the pool area is spectacular. Continental breakfast is adequate although would liked to have had a little more of a selection. We didn't use the available room AC however others led us to believe it can be quite expensive. The hotel is at the top of a hill however it's only a 10 min. walk to the main coast road & a further few minutes to the town centre. We used the local taxi service to return (5 Euros) given that our knees are not what they used to be !! Would recommend this hotel.

We have just spent a wonderful relaxing week at the Livadaki Village Hotel..... and what a great week we had!!.... If you're looking for a holiday destination where you just need to chill and switch off then look no further. To start with, Sophia the lovely lady who part owns the hotel will make your stay so enjoyable ..... she makes you feel like you're staying in her home.... she was lovely! The accommodation was ideal for us and she even gave us the room with best view ever.... we looked out across the sea.... and at night, we could see the island of Zante twinkling on the horizon. The breakfast is basic but adequate, as there is a great menu to choose your pool-side lunch for later. The pool is great.... kept beautifully clean... as is everything in the hotel. Our room was spotless ... cleaned every day... although the bathroom was a little tired looking! We paid to use the WiFi ... which was handy but found we kept loosing connection and had to keep typing in the password quite a few times! We took a slow walk down to Skala every evening for our meal... good choice of Tavernas .... the Scandinavian Mikalos family run taverna is a must... excellent food and service .... our favourite!! All in all... one of the best holiday destinations we have been to.

We have just returned from a one week stay here and have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending the Livadaki Village. As others have said Sophie ( a charming host) and all the staff are very welcoming and the whole place is immaculately maintained. Yes it is up a hill but the walk down takes you directly to the beach - pebbly so bring or buy beach/water shoes - and it is only a short walk along the sea front to the main street and numerous excellent tavernas. The walk back is not as bad as some suggest if you are at least reasonably active. The alternative is the 5 euro taxi ride. However I would not recommend the location for pushchair or wheel chair users because of the hill.

Yes the air con (it was essential this last week) is an extra 45 euros; the in-room safe 20 euros and wi-fi 10 euros. We took a TP-Link wi-fi device (£16 from Amazon) which connects to the in-room ethernet socket and gave us good wi-fi for our tablet and phones. Otherwise the wi-fi is only available in the dining/reception area.

The infinity pool is a reasonable size and the views lovely. Beware the sunbeds in the lower sun bathing area adjacent to the deep end - both you and your book will get splashed! Drinks and snacks available from the pool bar throughout the day, not the lowest price you will pay in Skala but OK given where you are.

Others have commented on the breakfast - it is the only disappointing aspect.

The hotel is only available via Tui/Thomsons from the UK. Sophie does not take direct bookings. Most of the people using the hotel are couples or families with older children. The only other people seem to come via a Polish tour company. It is very quiet. There can be a more 'noise' (of people enjoying themselves) from the hotel next door - it was not an issue.

We would also recommend Skala as a destination. Everyone very friendly and lots of tavernas to choose from for an evening meal. We ate at a different on every night and had good to excellent meals and service very time. We will return!
