“a great view but virtually unreachable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

The resort is located with a view to the estuary. It actually was an old Shivaji fort, so if you want to be part of the history then its nice. The approach is horrible & you feel sorry for your car. The service is very human and the food is tasty if you stick to the regular indian fare.
The resort is in need of major maintenance.

Excellent getaway in karwar on top of the vintage sadashivgad fort over looking the river meeting the sea.The look and feel of staying inside a fort has an experience of its own. I was offered an early check in on request and slightly late check out as well.Very good service too.Though the resort exterior looks ok, the location and service makes up for it.The Resort Manager Mr.Leji was very helpful and accomodative.Food was awesome. It is 100% value for Money resort at great budget prices. All our requests were accomodated and we were made to feel special. We also made a trip to Palolem beach Goa which is 35 km from the resort.Though the resort is slightly inside(1 km) from the Main road you can get Autos/taxis on a phone call. All in all a memorable experience. Will surely recommend others!

Disadvantages:
1. Away from the city. Difficult to get transportation to reach the hotel. It is on a hill top, the last 1 km road is in very bad condition, not motorable.
2. Deserted, one or two guests. Not much maintained
3. service is so so. Foods are of limited variety.
Advantage:
1. view from the hill top. Garden though not maintained.

Resort is at a nice place, atop hill with a beautiful view of Kali river joining Arabian Sea.
Good things end there.
Food is served late and is always served less. they behave as if they are serving for free. come on, we have paid 2000/- day which is quite high.
These people are cheaters, We were shocked to know, when we are about to vacate, they gave us a bill of 8000/- more. which include charges on Butter milk and pakoda. OMG never seen a such a money sucking resort.
There are many such things to describe about the place, anyway i will end it here.
Definietly a place to avoid.

During Christmas vacation planned to visit Tarang Resort with 4 families of total 8 Adults & 5 children. In photos resort looked good but when we went shocked to see the resort which has very few rooms total 12 and swimming pool was in poor condition. Dinner served very late and didn't have adequate staff. Food quality was very average and breakfast was worst.
This resort owned by Suresh who converted this one from farm land. This resort is about 0.7 km from beach and beach didn't have any facilities like water sports etc. We spotted Dolphin's during boat ride provided by hotel for this he charged Rs200 per person. When I reserved the room calling Suresh directly he offwered the Maharaja cottage rooms which was little expensive. He asked for full payment as reservation confirmation and I did made a full payment. After going to resort found out that resort was not completely full. After staying one night we wanted to shift to executive room for saving some money. After staying two nights when we wanted to settle the amount he charged higher amount though we stayed one night in executive room. After much arguments finally he returned the extra money. I suggest not to pay the full amount for reservation and stay in this resort if no other option available.

The rooms are ok but one gets the same feel of any lodge in the city with sea view. The hotel does not have any beach activities which I was look up for.The hotel is quite far from the beach so need to take up a taxi to enjoy the beach.People looking for beach fun like water sports etc which Karwar is famous for will get disappointed staying here.
so friends do your inquiry well before to stay here
