“Wonderfully tucked away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012 via mobile

Turtle Nest Inn is a great value and absolutely beautiful location. Felt very personal: our housekeeper even left us a recipe for a local tea using sorrel which we bought at the local grocery store. The only downside is a bit of a drive, ~1 hr each direction, to the excursions at George Town or at Seven Mile Beach, so we did much more driving than anticipated, on the left side of the road in our tiny rental car they provided. So make sure you're up for that, but if you'd like to get away in a more private location, you won't be at all disappointed with the amenities, staff and absolutely incredible view. We went snorkeling at the beach right outside our hotel. They even provide all the gear! We saw loads of fish, black durgeon, grunts, butterfly fish, even a peacock flounder.

We sincerely thank you for staying at the Inn, and for posting a wonderful review. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay. But, we wonder what route you took to get to other points of interest on Grand Cayman. George Town and the airport are only 9 miles from the Inn; Seven Mile Beach is 10 miles away and, unless you travel during the morning "rush hour" (between 7:00am and 8:30am), the drive takes only about 20 minutes. The furthest points from the Inn -- Rum Point and West Bay -- take about 40 minutes.

We had a great stay at the Turtle Nest Inn! All the staff was super friendly. The rooms were beautiful, the beach was beautiful, the pool was great. It was all the little things they did that stood out to us. They had sunscreen and tanning oil to use. They had real beach towels, instead of tiny hotel towels. They had a pre-charged flash light ready in the hotel room for walks on the beach at night. They had free pool floats and snorkeling gear to use. It was peaceful and quiet - away from all of the crowds. The beds were comfortable. Next door on the beach is a delicious fish-fry stand (Grape Tree Stand) that you MUST try - just beware: the red snapper is a whole fish with eyes and everything. It was about 20 minutes to Georgetown and 35 minutes to West Bay, but a rental car was included in the room price.

The worst thing I can say about TNI is I had to leave. The rest of these rating are just not good enough. We were at our home the only thing we did not have is a Housekeeper, HA! If you want the fancy resturants on 7 mile beach then stay thier that is no break from rush hour. South Sound road got us to GT in 10 min during rush hour. The loction was just close enough to tourist Georgetown, thursday at the gas station next door cut gas price by 20%. Foster IGA is a grocery store open to 11pm. great place.

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Turtle Nest Inn in Bodden Town. We couldn't be happier with the Inn and the friendly staff. Our oceanfront room was just steps from the pool and beach and the room rate included a car for the week. Driving around was easy and we visited West Bay, Cemetery Beach, Rum Point, Seven Mile Beach and the Botanical Gardens. Aside from the obvious stuff, the Inn offers so many little things that really add up to make it a great place to saty,; free snorkel gear for the week, free DVDs to watch at night, super friendly staff with recommendations, directions and advice, BBQ grill, attentive housekeeping, etc.etc. Donna was always helpful and sweet. Snorkeling was excellent right off the beach and we found great snorkeling at Eden Rock, Cemetrey Beach and Smiths Cove. Rum Point was nice for drinks and beach time, with plenty of starfish just south in Cayman Kai. After experiencing the rush hour traffic and cruise ship crowds at 7 mile beach, we are glad we picked a place off the beaten path for relaxation and fun. We didn't realize just how great it would be.

Thanks again to the TNI staff for a great week.

This is our seventh trip to Grand Cayman and our seventh stay at the Turtle Nest Inn. Once again we had a great time. We love being away from the crowds and Bodden Town fits the bill completely. It is so centrally located that it isn't too far to go anywhere. Having been there on many occasions we feel and are treated like family.

Here's to our next visit.

Room Tip: Ocean View and Ocean Front are both good - we have used both. Now prefer main floor because of phys...

We have just enjoyed another wonderful stay at the Turtle Nest Inn. We had such a lovely time the previous year that we repeated the trip and now hope to do it annually. We stayed in the same oceanfront condo- you just can't get any better. TNI is away from the crowds so you have the beach to yourself. The snorkling straight out from the condo is as good as anywhere on the island- and you have it all to yourself!!!! There are excellent restaurants within an easy drive- local fare(Grape tree on the weekends is a short walk up the beach and very close are Rankins and Chesters ) , moderate (Edge of the World,Southend) to high end (The LightHouse). The staff at the TNI are like family- you definately feel welcome.

We stayed in the lst floor ocean view apartment to save a little money and it was great. A quick trip from the airport (on the wrong side of the road) we grabbed groceries and were set. $80 of food and drink was billed over $100 with their steep tax. But once at Tutrle Nest we could use the full size kitchen in the apartment for breakfast and dinner while having lunch out. The seperate bedroom was nice and the one time we heard a lot of traffic we slept with the air conditioner. Patio and pool and chairs under palm trees were nice and everyone was very freindly. We love to shore snorkel and best day trips were to Cemetary Beach and Wreck of the Cali. Run point and Eden Rock were crowded cruise ship zoos. Lots to see in the water at Turtle Nest but one needed high tide to get over the shallow growth areas. Special thanks to Donna there who was very nice and even called us back in Illinois to see if we left an extension cord. Great place and people.

Room Tip: South Shore restaurant about a mile away is nice bar and grill on breezy point over ocean with decen...
