“Great destination”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2011

Resort is accessed by air from Manila to Dumagette, then a 1 hour ferry ride to Siquijor, and finally a 20 minute drive to the resort. One annoying element of the ferry is that either you haul your own luggage or pay a porter every time someone touches your bag. Rooms are very nice, either balcony or small veranda, air con, overhead fan, clean and comfortable (no safe or kettle), it is easy to move around the resort and rooms are well situated. Dive shop is very good and offer a variety of destinations, staff is knowledgeable and experienced. Snorkeling was also very good in fromnt of the A variety of food is offered at reasonable price in two different restaurants, the better of the two is Salamada, the other restaurant option saw people waiting up to an hour and a half for their food service. It is true we were there in a busy weekend, nevertheless it was a more than a bit much. Several different alternatives in terms of activities including kayak, sailing etc. Two nice pools, beach is nice for walking but nit for swimming, All in all a very nice experience and we would most certainly return,

we stayed a night in this hotel, the hotel is ok, but i think rooms needs some improvement, kind of old now, not much water pressure in the shower.

Food is so so, expensive and small serving.

One of my siblings got stomach flu after eating breakfast, he is the only one who ordered the longaniza for breakfast, he was vomiting all the way to Dumaguete. My other siblings did check the longaniza and he said it got a weird taste, i think that's what got him.

Service was excellent, friendly and courteous staff.

The beach is not that bad, lots of marine life but rocky and has lots of broken corals

We were a family of four treated to a fully relaxing and memorable service by well-trained staff during our two day holiday at this resport. Everyone, from the reception lobby, to the restaurants and bar, housekeeping and transport, provided consistently attentive, courteous and polite assistance to guests. Joy, Cherry, Diding, Jeje and all the rest were happy to please guests, who were greeted with their names.

Food and beverage quality, in terms of range of choices, manner of presentation and tastiness, were good. Although some food items are a bit pricey, this element is outweighed by the friendly and warm attention guests enjoyed from the staff. Beverage prices were reasonable.

Requests for assistance in arranging for tours and transport were promptly met. Ferry tickets could be obtained by staff and their representative escorted our group to the pier and assisted in getting seat numbers.

Our room was comfortable, located in quiet surroundings. The tropical ambience at the resort was enhanced by the lush greenery, beautiful landscaping and dramatic sunsets.

This is a highly recommended choice. Foreign and Filipino travellers alike will leave the place happy and contented.

We stayed at this resort for 4 nights and were very sad to leave. The service was warm, friendly and very good, I asked to move rooms because of a shower issue and they accommodated my request straight away. I feel that the rooms are in need of some modernisation but were nice enough. The food was very good, came in large portions and was reasonably priced. We will definitely return to Coco Grove.

This place is heaven. This resort and their staff together with the excellent diving we did with Nixon, really was amazing. We stayed in a room which was well laid out and large, very close to the beachfront. Do not expect television - but why would you need it here? The staff all greet you by your name, the amazing Manager remembers every persons name currently staying at the resort at the extravaganza which is the Cultural show. We were greeted at breakfast by the biggest smiles. The staff only ever had the nicest things to say about the owners which show the owners really know how to treat their staff and their business - which is evident. They are a really friendly family and we can't wait to return there again soon. As I said, the diving was excellent. The dive equipment was new and extremely well maintained. The dive staff have excellent knowledge of their surrounding marine sanctuary and treat it with respect. This is shown by the pristine coral and sea life and their knowledge in finding the local treasures for you to see on your dives. I can't say enough about the diving really - only to say that I cannot wait to return to your lovely resort so that I can dive again. The food at the resort was really tasty and the fish was so fresh too. The pool bar with its friendly staff always had a smile for you as you swim up to order a freshly squeezed juice or a cocktail. Also have to mention Apo Island Resort, which is also owned by the same owners and accessible from Coco Grove Resort. If you have the opportunity, go there. Stay, dive, eat beautiful and simple fresh food. It is paradise on earth. Just beautiful. The diving with Ruel and Kekken was out of this world. It is a marine sanctuary and just amazing. If you want to be away from civilisation, yet have a comfortable bed to sleep in whilst you enjoy your days on the beach, or diving in the water, lunch and dinner on the beach - then go. We are planning to visit both resorts in 2012 and cannot wait!!!!

We didn't expect that we will find this superb resort in the beautiful and enchanting island of Siquijor. Its really really nice! One of the best resort in the Philippines. It has a lot of amenities and you can do a lot of things in the resort. I recommend you stay here at least 2 nights so you get to enjoy the resort. The rooms are really nice and comfy. My friends and I had a great time! The sunset restaurant serves good food but the rice is expensive about 30php/cup =p We weren't able to enjoy the white sand beach because the waves were quite big so we opted to swim in the pool which is super nice and very clean.

The only downside is that the water pressure in the shower is very slow. But apart from that everything is A-okay! We will definitely recommend this resort to our friends and colleagues. We will definitely stay in Coco Grove and visit Siquijor again.

We stayed in Coco Grove Beach Resort for 4 days and 3 nights. We had a lovely time and enjoyed every minute of it there. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We took a tricycle from the dock to the hotel which was about a 20 minute commute and was greeted at the front desk by Macky, the dancing parrot. Macky was excellent and danced for us while my friend played Taylor Swift music on her phone. The hotel grounds are lovely and with chairs and tables in some or other corner for the guests to relax in. The cottages are simple, clean and cozy and the bathroom was great (very important) with clean towels and hot water. The swimming pools were nice but must admit that there were leaves and grass floating. We weren't bothered by this cause our overall experience was excellent.

Hands down to the hotel staff. They make the experience in Coco Grove what it is. Very accomodating and friendly. We have several memorable experience with the hotel staff. One was during breakfast when for the past two days we favored a particular table and on our third day we were about to sit in another when one of them approached us and asked if we wish to move since she thought we had a favorite table already and when we looked over, our usual table was already set up with utensils and place mats. She also remembered that I smoked so there was a ready ash tray there for me. We appreciated that. One night as well, coming back from swimming, when we were about to enter our room, a furry little creature was scavenging in our trash can and us, girls, quite embarrassingly shrieked really loud and ran inside. We were surprised when a few moments later, we got a knock and it was one of the hotel staff checking if we were alright. It's stuff like that in this hotel which we truly appreciated aside from the beautiful surroundings.

As a side note, we recommend bringing a flashlight. At night, whilst there are lights all over the grounds, there are still dark patches which make visibility really bad so to avoid tripping and bumping into branches, bring a flashlight.

The only "attitude" or some form of difficulty we experienced was with the frontdesk. It was hard to get a read on the frontdesk personnel and we felt a slight discomfort on the rare occasions we had to deal with them. Other than that, the hotel is excellent and everyone thinking of staying ought to choose Coco Grove for their Siquijor experience. :)
