“Butterfly's life cycle is here...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

The butterfly garden is not that big, yet i was so amazed to have all the life stages of the butterfly witnessed in there. The entrance fee is 30php actually but we just pay 20 php each since we're a total of 5 visitors. The lady in-charge f the garden was also friendly and accommodating.

“A special little place, most charming.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2012

We loved the butterfly farm and spent a lovely time just looking at the beautiful butterflies flying around. The owner started the project to help protecting the indigenous butterfly species of the island. He explained that through his breeding program, he tries to release 40% of the butterflies back to the wild. The owner is really nice and should be proud of his work. Going to visit this charming little place can only encourage and help him.

“Very friendly owner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

Have been there for the second time. This man is really trying to make this place as a good example for a passion for life. We enjoyed this place again. It is small but you would enjoy the butterflies and the presentation.

“Personal tour by owner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2012

We visisted during March, apparently one of the lower points of the year for butterfly numbers but still saw three different types plus a green and red, supremely attrcative caterpillar.

There were also huge moths that quietly attached themselves to people.

The owner Dante has developed this without any government support. He told me visitor numbers had increased intwo years from five a week to five a day, still very small but increasing constantly. This is no mean feat given that visitors have to arrange transport up the mountain road.

No refreshments are available, so bring your own. The tour only took 15 minutes but while the sanctuary is small, it's well laid out. It may be extended in the future.

There is no official entrance fee but a donations box is available. I suggest P100 minimum per visitor: give more if you can so afford.

I assume that one could use toilets in the owner's adjacent house if required.

“Butterflies and boco juice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2012

Great chance to get close up pictures of caterpillars and butterflies. Ask nicely, and the owner will send someone up a nearby coconut tree and bring you some fresh coconut juice in the shell.
