I booked this hotel on hotels.com for £35/night after reading all the lovely reviews about it on the internet. It was advertised as having a spa and air conditioning which was really important to me due to the long walks and hot days that I expected to be having on my holiday.
Upon arrival, the hotel is easy to find although not very easy on the eye. We were given a very small room at the back of the hotel facing the fire escape. The room had a very small tv with no English channels and the tiniest shower I have ever seen. There was a button for air conditioning but this was switched off so we were not able to use this.
The breakfast is a very small selection of a croissant, bread roll, jam, butter and yoghurts. There was no hot food available.
On the second day, we were woken up at 8am by the cleaners coming into our room then again 15 minutes later. There was no "do not disturb" sign to hang out. We did tell the receptionist this and she said she would speak to them.
We had lots of walking and were really looking forward to the spa when we got back. When we asked at reception, we were told it was only open on Sundays.
The service from the front desk and the waitress at breakfast was very good. The hotel receiptionist recommended two very good restaurants in the area which we dined at.
Given the short distance to the centre and the very low cost of this hotel, I have given this hotel 3 stars out of 5 as I do believe it was value for money, although I think they need to actually provide the services they advertise to score higher.
