“A Perfect Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

My husband and I stayed in Hotel Villa Aurora at the tail end of a 2 month trip travelling around Europe. It was an absolute gem and one of the best places and areas that we visited. Our clean and comfortable room on the second floor gave us an amazing view of Lake Como, as well as free workable wifi. Delicious breakfasts offering a wide variety of fresh foods, lunches and dinners on the terraced restaurant, free sporting equipment to use on or around the lake and very helpful staff all added to a wonderful experience. Lezzeno is a quiet and small village compared to many other lake towns, however it is the perfect base to explore other areas if you are looking for somewhere chilled to stay. I would recommend staying at least 3 days to really appreciate the area.

Wow! That's what we said as soon as we walked into our stunning Lakeside room. (Across from the hotel) The windows open so that the entire wall virtually disappears and you can hear the lovely sounds of the lapping water, watch the swans the heavenly view of the sky and mountains. Lake Como was the last stop on our trip. We had been to Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre for two weeks. Every place had been wonderful and this was such a beautiful, quiet, exquisite way to end our trip. Our bed was so wonderfully comfortable with perfect pillows. My best sleep the whole trip. The entire staff of the hotel was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is nothing short of perfect with so many delicious things to eat. Lunch and dinner looking out at the stunning lake eating amazing fish, pasta, salads. What's not to love? And the boat ride to Bellagio is just a quick walk from the hotel. We can't wait to go back and will definitely stay at the Hotel Villa Aurora.

Room Tip: we loved having a room across from the main hotel. Very quiet.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel recently. Arriving late from Milan, parking was a bit of a problem. Our room was beautiful with lake views but on the first floor in a building across from the main building so didn't have a bacony or side views. We saw swans and ducks swimming around in the morning. Wifi was very spotty. We needed to leave around 7:00 AM on Sunday and there was no one at the front desk. They had our car keys and we were stuck. Luckily saw the house keeper and she got the waiter who told us there is no way to check out until 8:00. he got very flustered when we insisted we had to leave and be in Bergamo by 8:30. We asked the house keeper to call some one. She tried with no success. We finally wrote down our credit card info which they already had and left them a note and begged the lady to find our car keys which she did. I think in this day and age, especially if you hold on to your guests car keys, you should have some one available to help the guests at different hours or if you know your guests are checking out on a Sunday, let them know the hours of service.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony.

Dear Madame,
Thank you very much for the time you spent writing this review and we really appreciate it.
You had a deluxe room as booked and is clear everywhere on our booking systems, that those rooms don't have a balcony but only lake view because beeing right on the water in case of inondation there is the danger the water can came into the room. If you really wanted a room with balcony, you should have booked another category of room, of course more expensive...
We are very sorry that you didn't notice the info by the reception desk, in the folder in your room and on your reservation paper that our office opens at 8.00 am and closes at 9.30 pm. Having your keys, you should be worried to inform us about your early check out or not? We also inform always our clients that in case of early departure they can check out the night before..... You missed those info not once but 3 times..... when the maid called me, early in the morning, sorry I was under the shower and I missed the call. When I called her back, you were already gone.... I suggest you next time to pay attention to the notes on your booking, on the reception desk, in the room. If you have to leave early, you have to be organized with your car keys or not ??? what do you think? How could we know you had to leave early if you do not inform us? We wish you all the best Margherita

We stayed 2 nights in the villa as part of our tour of the Italian lakes. Beautiful, clean room with amazing views of the the lake and surrounding mountains. We stayed on the lake side of the property (another building is across the street) and our balcony opened up directly onto the water.
The hotel staff were all wonderful and answered any questions we had regarding things to do in the area. Everyone spoke English which is always an added bonus!
The restaurant was amazing with great food at excellent prices! They have an expansive menu and we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there both days that we stayed. Try the pear ravioli, I have never tasted anything like it and it was amazing. The gnocchi and pizzas are also excellent.
Great gem of a hotel and a great base for exploring Lake Como!

This is our third visit to Hotel Villa Aurora, but this time it was for our honeymoom! What a romantic and quiet place to spend our first few nights of our trip. Marguerita, as always, were welcoming and helpful. Great food, wine, and of course cappuccinos.

Room Tip: We had a great room with a view to the lake.

A party of six of us stayed at the hotel for two nights recently and we loved the rooms, view, food and drink at the restaurant, and the very helpful staff. If you are looking to visit Bellagio (highly recommended) the Aurora is only a few minutes down the road, reasonably priced and a great base from which to visit Bellagio and the beautiful surrounding towns.

Give these accommodations a try - I think, like us, you will be glad you did.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms overlooking the lake across the street from registration.

My wife booked this stunning hotel for our 2nd wedding anniversary and was just the tonic we both needed after a stressful few months. Upon arriving we were given a very warm welcome and shown up to our room which was a superior villa double with amazing views across Lake Como. The room was spotless and had without question the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The restaurant offers a wide variety of wonderful dishes from across the region but if I'm honest I was blown away by the choice of 56 wood fired pizzas (I think it was 56 but lost count). All the food was simply amazing. Breakfast too was of a very high standard with plenty of choice.
A beautiful hotel in a stunning central location. Already planning to go back next year.
