“Excellent base friendly owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2011 via mobile

This hotel is basic, clean and great value. Rooms have fantastic views but open on main road so a bit noisy. Make sure you have Sunday lunch here!

Location, view and service were great but the noise of the traffic made it quite difficult to sleep.

We had a wonderful stay in February - we were freezing cold outside but lovely and warm inside - had laptop but honestly who wants to be bothered about wi-fit whilst on holiday! Mad! Lovely meals, staff so pleasant and friendly - we were actually on our way to Corfu so getting ferry from Venice. Great bar and good nighttime bar service and we are in our late 50s/60's. Only meant to stay for a night but ended up staying for 2. Would love to go back there on our drive back in Dec. Great food. Thank you to all who made us so welcome there. Ann and Roger.

Nicely situated across the road from the lake but it was expensive for basic accommodation. There was no air conditioning at the height of summer and that made for an uncomfortable night. The bars downstairs were loud until late so not the best place for a good night's sleep. They charged extra for the wi-fi as well. Not very good value and would be better when the weather is cooler. A more classier joint can be found across the road at the Belvedere - same price as well.

We loved our 3 days stay in this hotel. The family that runs the hotel is very nice and did everything to make sure that our stay was very pleasant. They speak very good English too. The food is incredible good. The rooms are simple but very clean and has everything you need. We stayed there during the low season, so we couldn't complain about the noise from the street. The whole area was very quiet. The rooms have a great view, but are on top of the main street and right infront of a "boat station". I will definetely go back.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2009

Husband and I just returned from a five day trip to Argegno, Italy with our 5 year old daughter. The location of this hotel is fabulous as it's a close drive from the highway and the town of Como (we rented a car and it was only about a 30 minute drive from Milan airport) and just across street from boat station. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. Had lunch in the restaurant on first day and the pizza was very good. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful, lots of good choices and cappucino brought to table very quickly!

It was very hot in Italy while we were there and since there's no air conditioning in the hotel at all it was hard to get comfortable at night. We were in the corner room on the third floor and got a nice breeze with the patio doors opened but the noise at night from the cars and motorcylces on the streets along with people on patios at restaurants and bars below was cause for us to shut the patio doors nightly. This hotel is a great value, very clean, safe, great location, but definitely no frills. If you're used to 4 and 5 star accommodations with a/c, wireless internet, comfy pillows and matresses, sheets washed daily, bath products, blow dryer, iron, kleenex, room service, and an elevator you might be disappointed here. It was fine for us for a few days and we really enjoyed our time. I recommend taking the gondola up to the town of Pigra as there are some beautiful views from up there.
