While staying on Lake Garda Italy we took the ferry to Portese where we found a treasure of a restaurant. Run by a delightful young Italian couple who serve everything homemade. We began our meal sitting at a table in the sunshine overlooking the lake while the water lapped at the shingle on the shore. We were given a complimentary starter of a selection of different fish pates, each one was heavenly.
My husband had the biggest grilled trout he had ever eaten, I tried it and believe me it was perfect. My ravioli was very good too.
When the rain fell we were seamlessly moved round to the other side of the building where were overlooked the sweet harbour of bobbing boats.
The proprietor was very friendly and charming. He told us that he creates all the deserts and they are clearly a labour of love. His lemon panacotta with grated zest and strawberry sauce was
simply devine and my husbands semi fredo chocolate and nut desert was again delicious.
This was definitely our best meal while at Lake Garda and the prices were reasonable.
I recommend this restaurant highly.
