“Lovely Hotel, but you need a Car”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Our room was very spacious and clean. The staff at the Hotel were very helpful and pleasant. Our waiter Rosario was always cheerful and made us feel very welcome. The swimming pool was lovely and clean. The food was good and there was a vast selection both for breakfast and dinner. The only problem with the Hotel was the location, as it was remote, being 3km from the lake. A shuttle bus was provided, but you were not able to walk anywhere. If you have a car then there is no problem.

This hotel is not 4* by any stretch of the imagination. The rooms are converted apartments with little access to the lake & just one ferry am & one pm. Food is poor (tinned veg) and I suggest you look elsewhere for a 4* break at Lake Garda

The hotel is located a good 30 minute walk from the lake. However the road has minimal footpaths, is narrow and quite dangerous in parts to negotiate the traffic. If you have a car problem solved!
The hotel has spacious rooms with views of either the pool/garden or fields and olive groves. The buffet breakfast was perfectly adequate serving both hot and cold food.
The hotel served its purpose but the location was the big let down. Without a car access to the local town/village is difficult as there is not a bus or taxi available.

The hotel is not on the lake. Our room has beautiful green belt in the back, with big patio, lounge chairs and table. No wi fi in the room, public area only, super slow. Breakfast is good. There is a big pool outdoor.

Italica Hotel
Lake garda Resort

Stayed in this hotel for two nights in April. I would have to payed substantially, in advance, before setting foot in this dump again.
- The desk staff was deliberately slow, rude and stupid. At check-in, they assigned an elderly woman to a room accessible only by stairs. She made it up the stairs only to find that her room key didn't work. She saw me passing below and asked if I would call the desk so that she would not have to negotiate the stairs twice more. When I called the desk from my room, the clerk said that as I was calling from my room, she couldn't understand my problem.
- Our room could have been acceptable if it had been clean. Trash from previous guests had been swept into a corner and left. It remained there throughout our stay. We had to wash cups and glasses before use.
- The restaurant food was poor. The service was slow and obnoxious. The first course was a salad bar. When better dishes were depleted, they were removed and not replenished. If you arrived late or were at the end of the que, you got what was left. Waiters stood in one place and handed plates across the table. We ordered a bottle of wine. After finishing the wine, we asked for a carafe of tapwater. The waiter refused, telling us that they would not serve tapwater. We would be required to buy bottled water at 5 Euros plus service charge. When we declined, the waiter insulted us with choice Italian swear words and left.
- The only hot item on the breakfast buffet was scrambled eggs. This was not served until about 30 minutes after the posted breakfast hour. The only things fast in this dining room are insults.
- After returning from a day at the lake, we found our room unlocked and the temperature at 32 degrees C. When I complained to the front desk, the clerk turned off the heat, but apparently the advertised air-conditioning did not work. When I asked to be moved to another room, she refused. (The hotel was not full.) She suggested that we could open all of the windows and doors.
- There was no sign of the much-vaunted bar and gelateria.
- Driving is necessary as this place. There is nothing within walking distance. There are no shops, markets or independent restaurants within a mile and very little within two miles.
