We stayed at the Apparthotel San Sivino (as a family of four, two adults & two grown-up daughters) in a 1-bedroom apartment for 11 nights in August 2011.
Check-in was swift & simple, with charming reception staff. In fact all the staff, from reception, through restaurant/bar to gardeners & cleaners were excellent, friendly & efficient.
The apartment was spacious (enough floor space to have two bedrooms actually), well equipped and well-maintained.
The gardens are pleasant, well-planted with trees & bushes, and well maintained. The pools are of a fair size, with sufficient free sun loungers (which suffer the unfortunately all-too-usual practice of people laying a towel on a lounger to reserve it & then disappearing for the day).
All apartments have a lake view – ours also included the backdrop of the mountains – fabulous scenery. Only downside was lack of a light on the balcony, so late evening reading on the balcony after others have gone to bed requires a torch/candles.
The restaurant offers simple, but good meals, and the bar closes at 22:00, which has upside that we had no experience of people being too rowdy after drinking too late.
The free table-tennis (once you’ve purchased your own ball for €0.60c) and free mini-golf are a boon.
Location is right on the Garda Lake pebble-beach – recommend flip-flops/plastic shoes for walking into/out of water!
Roads in the area don’t seem to have many pavements or cycle lanes, so you really need a car to get to local town centre and/or nearest off-site restaurant – walking/cycling can be scary on the single-track country lanes. Closest off-site restaurant is ~1.5km away, and serves great food (well, it’s Italy!) at a reasonable price.
We’d heartily recommend Gardena Riveria, Sirmione & Verona for day trips out from Manerba.
take candles/torches for balcony - there's no lights
