This is a charming medieval village on the French side of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) You can reach it by boat or by car (about 45 minutes from Geneva; a bit over an hour from Annecy). While it's clearly a tourist destination, it's definitely worth a visit as you can walk around peacefully either in the village or by the lake. The various stores have interesting merchandise with prices that are basically fair -- no ridiculous overcharging because many of the visitors come from nearby. There are various restaurants with views of the lake and a typical menu feature is perch filets in a lemon butter sauce served with salad and fries. Our favorite place to eat lunch is the Hotel du Port with an outdoor area almost directly on the lake. Reservations are advisable in high season or on Sundays and you may want to check on closing days or dates but there are other choices. Note there is no charge to enter the village but there is pay parking.
