“Great day trip from Geneva or Annecy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

This is a charming medieval village on the French side of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) You can reach it by boat or by car (about 45 minutes from Geneva; a bit over an hour from Annecy). While it's clearly a tourist destination, it's definitely worth a visit as you can walk around peacefully either in the village or by the lake. The various stores have interesting merchandise with prices that are basically fair -- no ridiculous overcharging because many of the visitors come from nearby. There are various restaurants with views of the lake and a typical menu feature is perch filets in a lemon butter sauce served with salad and fries. Our favorite place to eat lunch is the Hotel du Port with an outdoor area almost directly on the lake. Reservations are advisable in high season or on Sundays and you may want to check on closing days or dates but there are other choices. Note there is no charge to enter the village but there is pay parking.

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

Went by boat from Geneva to Yvoire and it was beautiful. Very small town on the lake and found it very relaxing to walk along the bank. Very quaint shops and nice restaurants but expensive. Well worth a visit.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

I have been fortunate enough to have visited Yvoire on a few occasions. It is a must see place very special place. The whole experience is amazing from the boat trip across to the restauntants and really lovely shops. This is a true medieval experience. Be prepared and have your camera ready for some great photos.

“What a beautiful town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

This is absolutely a stunning town. Like a perfect postcard. An easy boat ride over from Nyon (I'm assuming you may could take a boat from Geneva). Enjoy ice cream, a beer, lunch or dinner at one of the many great little restaurants!

“Boaters paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

A must see on the Leman lake, get there before or after mass tourism. Yvoire is a beautiful old town, marvelous walk through, shopping and dinning. Surprising atmosphere, made of a mix of local navigators and foreign tourists, staying in young and lively places made of 12th century stones.
