“Great view, Far from everything”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

I stayed here for a week. The room is a very minimum style. Small bathroom, only enough for 1 person. No fridge available (you need to rent for CHF5 per day). Their excuse was to make the hotel green. No kettle to make tea either. But they provide you with 2 bottle of complimentary water, just on the first day though. And dont expect a fancy toilletries. They provide a liquid soap where you can use for body and shampoo and 1 bar soap for washing hand. They forgot to refill it and I needed to ask to the receptionist. They have hair dryer and also provide with slippers and bathrobe. The bed that I got was so old. When you lie on it, it will sink in the middle. I got sore back the next morning. Food was good. No complain on my breakfast, lunch or dinner. The hotel is quite far but they have a bus who come and go every hours. They have a lots of attraction too, such as bowling, badminton court, swimming pool, go cart, mini golf, spa. During my stay there were construction or maybe it was farmer who started their work at 6am in the morning. Really loud and noisy but at night it was quite. Limited english tv channel, so if you cant speak german, you might have a bit of problem here. The hotel has a great view. I would recommend this for family who has young kids as this palce has facilities to keep them busy. I might be back for some of the facilities (spa) but I wont stay overnight in a room.

stayed there in Feb (during the swiss ski holiday). the hotel is immaculate. a little strange to have to walk through the parking garage to get to your room (in a bathrobe coming back from the pool, for instance) but otherwise great. Extremely kid friendly - not usually a Swiss strength...

the skiing was spectacular - we lucked out with the weather and the hill was just big enough for my teenagers. Everything is really pricy - but overall, the best ski vacation we've ever had. I can highly recommend it.

Breakfast buffet was great - extremely friendly service and great variety. Dinner choices were limited but very good. I liked the swiss restaurant in the hotel - great fondu.

Room Tip: if you can get one of the appartments rather than a room, you'd get far better value. The rooms...

Stayed with Landal is in this park for the second time. Excellent location, good and spacy appartments, clean. Good swimming pool, especially outdoors in the snow. Plenty of things to do in the area. Small ski lift for small children. Nearby skiing for grown-ups in nearby Stoos.

The Swiss Holiday Park is in a unique setting atop Lake Lucerne with one of the more impressive views in Switzerland. The hotel is connected to several good restaurants, a huge indoor and outdoor swimming pool, great sauna facilities (including - you do have to pay extra for that - a roman-irish bath) and a large fitness and sports facility. You never have to leave the building - although you might want to, because the setting is so great.

The location is certainly excellent, rooms are OK and clean but there's a number of smaller annoyances. Things like the very expensive internet (sorry - I expect that to be included these days), lack of dual language on the TVs and not being offered a non smoking room (didn't realise they even had smoking rooms so didn't think to ask). Value for money in comparison to Austria with current exchange rates is also not the best.

My mum and I had a 2 night break here together recently.
It wasn't busy (summer hols just finished) and we were upgraded to a "comfort" room, which is pretty standard (think travel lodge, but clean and comfortable), the advantage being the room is in the main building connected directly to the pool, so no need to go outside and cross the road in bathrobes etc. We had no view, and the room was a bit dark, but we didn't mind as we didn't spend much time there.
We were lucky with the weather and were able to sunbathe and spend a lot of time in the outdoor pool area. The indoor and connecting outdoor pools are lovely and warm, with massage jet and whirlpool areas. Long opening hours (we went in the water before breakfast as the sun was rising over the mountains - amazing). Not really serious swimming pools - more to relax in. The toddler pool areas were full of fun features and we can't wait to come back with the little ones.
One day we paid 20 francs extra to go into the wellness spa area - a series of saunas and steam rooms and a salt pool that you go round in an organized circuit, with intermittent hot or cold showers. Was very relaxing, takes about 1 1/2 hours to do the full circuit.
Breakfast buffet was great, we never really needed lunch after that.
There are 4 in-house restaurants (Swiss/Asian/Mediterranean/pizzeria). The Swiss one was closed on the nights that we were there. We ate both times in the Mediterranean-panorma one - the 3 course menu of the day was always really simple and excellent, and we thought good value at 28 francs (without alcohol).
Apart from the pool and spa area we didn't use any other facilities, but went hiking instead - some great walks in the region, for instance going up onto the Stoos, or down to Brunnen as part of the "Weg der Schweiz".
I could imagine the pool area can get pretty crowded during holidays and at weekends. Go off peak - it was lovely. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Room Tip: If you want a view or sunlight - mention this at booking, lots of rooms are north facing with no vie...

Great family vacation. The water park area was perfect for the kids and the sauna area was exactly what the adults needed. It was in a great location for going to other villages and exploring them easily. The staff was very helpful. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay!
