“comfortable and in attractive town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

The hotel is in the old quarter of this charming town and was well sign posted and even though the streets were narrow it was not a problem to negotiate. Parking could have been a problem but there is a separate secure garage within walking distance, this was especially appreciated as we had a boot full of wine. The receptionist was smiley and extremely helpful and we were soon in our room which was nicely furnished.
We stayed on a quiet night with only 4 other guest rooms occupied, and we ended up eating in the restaurant on our own and the food consequently was less than delicious. However it was a menu del dio at 12.5 euros including a good bottle of wine so we couldn't complain. I must also say that we could have chosen to eat in the bar of the hotel which when we passed through was full of locals having a lively time.
Breakfast was a feast on its own with cold meats, cooked eggs and bacon plus pastries to choose from. Again we were the only people in the dining area but this was probably because we were early at 8.30am as we had a longish drive ahead of us.
Nice hotel and a restful night which is all we wanted.

This hotel is located in a village that has roots in the 12th century, most of the buildings were first built hundreds of years ago and updated over time and given modern amenities. The Palacio de Pujadas is no exception, an old chaming exterior with modern updates like an elevator. Our room was very comfortable, mini-fridge, wonderful wooden windows with shutters that open to let the light and breeze in, charming stone walls. The bathroom was generously sized with tub/shower, bidet, toilet and single sink. Toiletries included shampoo, and shower gel, but no conditioner. The tv has limited channels, most programming is in Spanish but there were some news channels in English and a random movie or two in English on otherwise Spanish channels.
There is a tavern on the lower floor, serving tapas and food ala carte for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, a full restaurant down the hall in the rear of the building that had a price fixed meal - appetizer, entree, dessert and local wine for 12.5 euros per person. Our meal was wonderful. All of the servers were friendly and we enjoyed our stay.
For convenience several small stores and another restaurant are within feet of the hotel but are not obvious unless they are open during business hours, they do close mid-afternoon for a few hours, so go early or late. There are pharmacies and banks with ATM machines just a few blocks away.

We booked that hotel at Viana because all reasonable priced hotels at Logrono were fully booked over this weekend. However, we were absolutely happy about this joice. The hotel is inside the original walls of an old medival palace, but now equipped with all goodies of modern techniques. Looking at their homepage we took the package " Sorprende a tu Pareja", an excellent deal including dinner, a bottle of first class cava and buffet breakfast. The menue at the restaurant was excellent, selection for main dish between fish or sirloin steak, both first class. Even the Navarra wine selected by the waiter for me, as I know nothing about those wines, was perfect. My wife enjoyed very much the jacuzzi tub, as she was exhousted from walking around at downtown Logrono. It would have been worthwhile to strawl around at Viana too, but we were too tired.
Personnel at reception and in the restaurant was competent and helpful and speaking english very well.
Definitely that hotel would merit 4 stars. We will come back later this year to visit some wineries and we will stay at this place again!

Stated in this very classy looking hotel while walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
The room was very pleasant with a very nice bathroom which even provided a disposable razor. Price was reasonable. I didn't eat in the restaurant but it is close to a number of eateries.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2007

I stayed here for one night while walking El Camino de Santiago de Compostela. It's a very pleasant hotel in a quiet spot at the end of the main street. My room was very comfortable and clean with modern decor and effective air conditioning. The bathroom was spacious, well equipped and very clean. The bar area was busy with locals as well as residents and quite smoky. The dining area is pleasant but the service was extremely slow. The breakfast buffet was quite sparse. The staff were all very pleasant and I would stay here again although I'd probably eat elsewhere.

  • Liked — Very comfortable bedroom
  • Disliked — Extremely slow service in dining room
