“Meh, I wasn't impressed!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

As a Hilton Diamond member, I usually try to stay in HH hotels and choose this hotel for my one night stay in Milan. However, I wasn't really impressed by this hotel and probably won't stay here again.

Even though this is an Airport hotel, it is a good 20-25 minutes away from the airport. Also the shuttle service is horrendous. For one, they don't have an on-call system at the airport and you have to use your phone to call the hotel to request a shuttle. Luckily I had my cell and even though I had to pay to use my phone in Italy, I could at least call to request a shuttle. However, for people arriving to Milan without a cell phone/service, this could really be an issue. Also, the shuttle bus doesn't make rounds like other airports and I was waiting for 45 mins before the shuttle came by to pick me up. Totally unacceptable. Another issue was that the shuttle van has no steps to climb in and it's quite high up where I saw old people having a hard time getting in. The shuttle van drops you back to the airport as well, but it's only every hour and one has to reserve a spot as it fills up quick. For early morning flights, this could be an issue.

The room was clean but fairly basic with no view. I didn't have breakfast as I had a very early morning flight, but the hotel did pack me a croissant, cookies, banana, juice and water. Service was decent and the shuttle drivers were really friendly and professional. I did have an issue where the shuttle going back to the airport didn't arrive at the time I had reserved, but the hotel manager was nice enough to get me a private taxi on their expense to drop me at the airport. WiFi was adequate but not fast enough.

You can easily access the city and all the sights in Milan by taking the train from the airport to the city. Buy a R/T ticket for around 18 euros.

Tip: To find the shuttle pickup/drop off area, follow signs to the Sheraton hotel (which is at the airport)...the shuttle picks you up directly in front of the sheraton hotel.

Also, if you don't have a phone on you or don't want to waste money calling an international number, you can always go to the Sheraton hotel front desk and request them to call Hilton for their shuttle. I will most likely just end up staying at Sheraton next time as their location inside the airport is really convenient.

Decent, clean, convenient Hilton-brand hotel near the airport. No surprises, decent rooms, decent beds. The staff is accommodating and helpful. The food is just OK, if you are too tired to go out. There may not be too many choices in the immediate area, however. The hotel is quiet and they serve a breakfast from 6:00 am if you have an early flight.

This is an excellent hotel. I'm completely satisfied at almost everything. However just to keep in mind - this hotel does not have shuttle bus circling around the airport terminals. You MUST reserve a pick-up/drop-off service. Otherwise you may be in trouble.

I stayed at the Hilton Milan for almost 2 weeks while on business.
Our company regularly does business in the area (in Sesto) and we all share hotel stories and reviews between each other. Currently, Hilton Garden Inn is our favorite. The boutique hotel Tre Re ranks high as well, but it's a lot smaller and difficult to get a room there. As well, the Tre Re, being a boutique hotel does not cater to some business needs.

Back to the Hilton

The location is ideal (with a car) between Malpensa airport and Sesto Calende.
There is plenty of free parking, both indoors and outdoors.

The lobby is a neat circular design, with many secluded seating areas surrounding with comfortable leather couches and chairs, which look ideal for small meetings and socializing.

There are a few elevators; however they are oddly spaced in 4 corners of the lobby. From the lobby, there is no indication what floor an elevator is on or where it is heading, so it’s easy to hop on, and then be taken on a journey in the wrong direction.

My room was up to Hilton standard. Very comfortable bed, super clean and sound-proof, except for some house cleaning noise in the mornings, which never lasted long.

Wired and wireless internet – I found wireless to be faster.
The flat screen TV was excellent quality (high definition), with many English channels, including premium movie channels for free. (among HIltons in German (Frankfurt airport, Bari), Hilton Malpensa had the best TV setup.

The room safe was big enough to fit a 14” laptop.
The window to the outside was sealed, but the Ventilation/AirCon was sufficient to keep the temperature ok.

The gym is on basement level. It’s a good size with a nice range of equipment. Oddly, the large flat screen TV is on the opposite side of the treadmills, so if you are jogging, your back is to the TV. I suppose a large mirror could allow viewing the TV while jogging. On each machine, there is a small TV, but those TVs, only received less than 6 channels. There were some maintenance issues in the gym that I reported to the front desk. When I visited next time, I saw that most issues had been dealt with.

Breakfast was a good mix of hot food and continental stuff. I really liked that the had fresh cut fruit (2 large bowls) everyday, and if a tour group showed up, they kept the fruit bowl full. And yes they have a toaster that takes forever to toast - seems to be the norm.

The servers are friendly, especially the manager, or head server.

All in all, I think the Hilton Malpensa is a solid choice for a clean comfortable business hotel, having a good selection of features.

Room Tip: End of hallways away from elevators - top floor even quieter

Although this is listed as an airport hotel it is about a 20 Euro ride from terminal 2 at Malpensa to the property. They have a free shuttle service but it is inconsistent. We waited over an hour and a half and then took a taxi.

It is not close by American standards to other restaurants but if you are willing to walk like Italians do then DO NOT eat at the hotel! High prices and very small portions. Although breakfast was excellent it is the only meal worth eating on the property.

To get to downtown Milan you have to take the complimentary hotel shuttle to the airport and then take the train into Milan, cost is about 18 Euros round trip per person.

But with that said the rooms were clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful.

I stayed here on my last night of a 6-week Europe hiking visit in Aug-Sept 2014. Hotel is just 10-15 mins shuttle drive from mxp airport, through a lovely forest, and well away from the airport, in a quiet semi-rural location. Reception staff very welcoming & friendly, room, with kettle, tea & coffee, was the most stylish of all hotels I stayed in, internet connection in Business centre was fantastic, nice dinner in hotel (lasagne was much smaller than my servings at home!), great breakfast, what more could I ask for? Perfecto! Free shuttle to airport. Grazie, Hilton Garden Inn! You have my vote for a pre-flight night!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back with a nice rural or garden view. My view was of a deserted house near t...

We always stay here for a few days prior to our departures. The surrounding area has some great restaurants, and it's easy to go into Milan by car or train. Service is always good, and rooms are clean and comfortable.
