My husband and I stayed here one night at the end of our honeymoon, to catch our return flight home. Check-in was efficient and friendly enough. The room met our needs. We walked to the restaurant next door to the hotel for dinner. They served large portions but the place was a little odd. The hotel breakfast provided a large variety of good items. The shuttle bus driver who took us to the airport was very friendly and efficient.

I have stayed at the First Hotel many times, the hotel is always clean, has small - but nice rooms and the front desk is quite accommodating. The only problem is and always was the restaurant: unfortunately it is the only eatery around since the hotel is located in a very small village without any other facilities nearby. While during my last dining the 'usual problems' in the restaurant occurred (slow und unfriendly service, many dishes on menu not available, etc) last week the restaurant left out food items (e.g. the chicken) from dishes and charged double for the wine ordered. When I disputed the wine item (after some convincing ! the chicken issue was solved at the table) at the front desk I was very surprised by the way how the front desk tried the handle this: although the menu proofed my pricing was correct, the man at the front desk threatened me, tried to refuse the use of the shuttle and plainly refused to correct the double charge. This incident will make me pick a different hotel for my next malpensa overnight. BE AWARE OF SCAMS!

A good choice for early morning flights from Malpensa. Significantly less expensive than American chains in the area and comparable rooms and service. We were intrigued by the restaurant, described in a review on this site as "the best restaurant in Italy." It was perfectly adequate. Free shuttle service to the airport was provided. An aside: we arrived at Linate Airport and were unable to find public transport to get to Malpensa and this hotel; we wound up taking a car which was quite slow and expensive.

We stayed at the hotel the night before our flight home to the US. We arrived at the airport from Milan via the Malpensa Express train which is the way to get to/from the airport. I was going to call the hotel for a pick-up, but happened to see the driver and we just jumped in with another guest. The hotel is about 7 minutes from the airport.

On check-in, they upgraded us to a nicer room which was clean and comfortable. The hotel was very quiet. We ate in the hotel and the food was good for hotel food. The decor of the dinner/breakfast room made me think of being in the middle of a plane crash with the airplane wings and such on the walls. Would not have been my choice of decor! Breakfast was very good and had a decent selection.

We booked our shuttle to the airport when I made the reservation originally and they confirmed on check-in. I would recommend doing this just in case they have a large group or something heading out at the same time you want. The hotel recommended getting to the airport 2 hours early which worked our right.

Also, don't worry when the hotels in Italy ask for your passports on check-in. You get them back pretty quick. It's no big deal, but when we were checking in another guest was giving them a very hard time about it.
