“Great Hotel, Excellent Customer Services, Great for US Traveler's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

This hotel was a Great Experience to us, in fact we plan to use it again soon, on our way back,
For US travelers..., in our room the toilet had a outlet that had a switch to 110v and it let's you plug in a standard US phone charger, (or any US adpter) so we were able to charge our USA Phone's without any adapter.
The front desk was very helpful, we told them were we plan to catch the train to Switzerland. And ask them for a car service number, s they informed us that we can save money by taking a bus that stopes 2-3 min walk from the hotel.
The price for the value, service, and cleanness, would make us rate this hotel 10.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Malpensa Airport and I'm really satisfied with the whole experience! I stayed there when I was waiting for my next flight at Malpensa Airport. The hotel was really nice and extremely clean! Also, you can sleep really good as it is soundproofed! It had all the amenities someone could ask for as it was more than basic for a short stay. The staff was really friendly and polite. There is a FREE Shuttle bus service from/ to the airpot (terminal 1-if you travel from/to terminal 2 though you can request a transfer as well) which takes ONLY 5 minutes, literally! The frequency from the airport (term 1) is every hour and the bus is very precise, according to the timetable. It takes you from the airport, exit 4 (arrivals), station 3 and it leaves you exactly at the entrance of the hotel, so you don't have to walk with your luggage at all! In addition, they provide you with a password for FREE wi-fi with perfect signal!!! I was really satisfied and If I have to wait again at Malpensa airport I will definitely stay again in the same hotel.

Room Tip: I stayed on the 3rd floor (I think it has 4 floors) and the view from my room was really nice. I cou...

We stayed here the night before our flight out of Italy. We arrived quite early - just after noon. The person on staff at the desk, Honeydette, spoke perfect English and accommodated us with an early check-in no problem. The advance rate room we reserved was available but for some unknown reason they had an issue charging the card in advance - she completed it in person and provided me with a receipt so we didn't need to check out the next morning (early flight). So we were checked in and out before one pm - very efficient indeed.

We booked because of location and the free airport shuttle - unfortunately we did not see anywhere on the website that the shuttle hours are limited, and not available very late or very early. We had a 6am flight and had to leave at 4am so we had to book a taxi and there is a set fee of 18 to 20 euros - which is crazy as you can literally see the airport and could walk to it absent a fence and some grade! This made me very glad we got such a good rate on the room as it definately added to the cost of the last night in an unplanned way - but this is not the fault of the hotel, just wish it was made clear when booking so we know. Luckily had enough euros left as this place is in a remote area and no place to change more so go prepared. Honeydette efficiently reserved the taxi for us and there were no problems with it.

Walked to the nearby Crowne Plaza for a disappointing lunch. The only restaurant nearby for dinner is Samarcanda Ristorante Pizzeria, an easy and short walk - go early or get a reservation as this is the only restaurant in the area serving many hotels as well as the neighborhood (and it was decent). Front desk offered to make a reservation for us but got no answer; we took a chance and showed up at opening and got a table without issue on a Sunday night.

The room was clean and comfortable, wi-fi was fast, everything seemed new. Oddly there are lots of fire extinguishers in the halls not mounted to anything, on little stands, and unfortunately one of these fell over and was quite loud - seems it would be better to secure them to the walls as is normally done. Perhaps there is some new local fire code? Never seen so many extinguishers per floor.

Overall a very pleasant stay with exceptional and efficient service.

This Hotel is located at the airport close by.. they are spacious for a European room. The rooms are nicely appointed with a desk & mini couch. The bathroom has a bidet' as well as a towel warmer. They provide a nice van for airport transfers FOC.. the breakfast was provided also FOC.. Which was very nice. The train system is at the airport for an easy lift into Milan..I did have a problem with my electric devices even with a converter.. The Hotel reception was so very helpful for all our needs, especially Honeydette, a very cheerful & intelligent young lady.

Room Tip: The rooms are very quiet for being by the airport.

No luxury and very challenging internet issues (my Blackberry with 4G worked intermittently) but otherwise a fine place to rest after a long international flight, and to prepare for the next one. Our first room was admittedly by request a ground floor. It was like a basement room, unpleasant, albeit clean. I like to see out of the windows even if I'm not going to be stargazing. We moved up to the third floor and the rest was just fine. Immaculate bedding, sharply ironed sheets and pillow cases, wonderful comforter and fabulous pillows. I'm totally intolerant of lumpy pillows without any body........the bag of cotton balls type. These were fat, firm and so comfortable as to be almost decadent. The room itself was spotless and neat, if not particularly beautiful but we hadn't come to a museum. All we wanted was good clean beds, a clean bathroom (although the little bottles of amenities would have been a nice touch instead of the ubiquitous cheap squeeze bottles of multipurpose body detergent affixed to the walls so you don't dare get more than a firm squeeze worth and, heaven forbid, if your arthritic hands can't squeeze hard enough, you stay dirty). Breakfast was fine. Not sumptuous but better than at home. And the shuttle made for terrific transfers to and from the airport......for free. We even did the local pizzeria for lunch. I caution everyone not to do the pizza walk in the dark. It's downright dangerous. Go for lunch or not at all. The pizza is not at all remarkable and the pasta was definitely precooked since it was delivered in less than five minutes and was far from spectacular. En route to the pizzeria is a bakery which is just fair but there's enough to keep the hunger pangs at bay if you find yourself too tired to search out real food. In the end, we've decided to return to the HIE on our return leg so I guess that's pretty much of an endorsement.
Cheap. Clean. Close. That's what we wanted and that's what we got.

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor.

This traveler's hotel was very good. It is geared towards people having to take an early morning flight at the nearby Malpensa airport and is it very good at that. Rooms were clean and well equipped as by holiday Inn standards. The concierge was very helpful and even we arrived late at night explained us happily the features of the hotel and the complimentary shuttle bus service to the airport for the next morning, Breakfast was pretty good for Italian standards but the room it was served in was freezing cold. All in all a good place in the middle of nowhere for sleeping before catching your flight.

We stayed here as a couple, room was adequate but my bald partner found a hair in the shower which I had been not been near. Food was appalling 2 burnt pizzas a salad consisting solely of lettuce and a coke and a beerfor 27 euros. Also tried to charge us twice for the drinks, which I find a bit suspect as at the time only 4 tables were occupied. Breakfast filled a hole but was forgettable.
