“Very Enjoyable Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

I stayed here last weekend for 2 nights with my boyfriend. We were very pleased as we were due to stay in a Superior Room but were given a Deluxe Room. The room was large, light and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable. The whole room was spotless with a lovely bathroom as well.

The service we received from all staff was faultless. The hotel was a lovely base for exploring North Wales. We visited Llandudno on a couple of occasions.

On the second day we both had a massage. A lady called Nicola did my treatment and I must say it was the best massage I have ever had. All staff at the Spa were also very friendly and professional.

The only downside is that we originally went here with plans to have a whole day relaxing by the pool, in the sauna etc and have a proper 'spa day.' We could not do this as there were lots of kids splashing around in the pool which made it very overcrowded, especially if you just want to relax around the pool with a book! I also think the pool area is in need of renovating to make it more tranquil. We chose to use the pool in the evening instead when it was really quiet!

I would definitely recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing break in a nice area, but don't go if you want a typical spa break as it is more of a hotel.

Overall, we had a great time and I still didn't want to leave!

Room Tip: Definitely go for a deluxe room.

One fault no full length mirror but main fault walls seem very thin, heard every word from next door. Woken at 2am by noisy wedding guests in corridor outside our room so be aware that there are often weddings at this hotel. The Continental Buffet Breakfast here is excellent .They also supply diabetic maralade and jam as well as the usual. We would stay here again.

We spent 2 nights at the Oriel, St Asaph & found it to be a great base for touring the North Wales coastal resorts, plus the countryside/mountains - all the better for a picturesque good covering of snow.
The hotel was very nice, clean, comfortable & adequate - but could be a little smarter for its 4 Stars.
The food was really very good - both breakfast & dinner. Sorry, but the house wines were best forgotten.
The most outstanding feature of the Oriel.......the staff !
Without exception, they were charming, professional, polite, friendly & very helpful. What a refreshing change to be greeted by a team who were smiling and without 'attitude'.

Stopped Easter weekend for a weekend break away. Found a fantastic 2 night stay offer on Groupon. Great, relaxing weekend all the staff were so friendly and helpful and very welcoming. The room was very comfortable the food was excellent just a really great place to stop and chill out with nice pool and spa. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at this hotel in February on a KGB deal for 2 night and we found the staff very friendly and the service good. We chose to eat at the hotel as it is a fair bit out of St Asaph and we were not disappointed - the food was excellent.

The room we had was large with a large comfy bed. It was clean and had everything you would expect from a hotel.

The only bad point about the hotel is its leisure pool which is in dire need of a refurb. The sauna did too and the steam room doesn't work and seemed to be used as a store.

St Asaph itself is quaint, as is Rhos-on-sea (nearby). I don't however recommend a trip to Rhyl unless you want to fall into a depression...

Comfortable room, bathroom a little tired but otherwise a good stay. Lovely breakfast and on site facilities - well worth a stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful too, plenty of parking which is always a bonus! Had lunch there too which was reasonable and nice

Stayed here with my partner for 2 nights in march 2013, very cold but plenty to do in and around hôtel. Swimming pool, gym, sauna & steam room all very clean. A la carte restaurant food great prices & well presented & very tasty. Breakfast time had lots of choice although welsh cooked breakfast is certainly worth having. Ryhl isn t too far away & à nice day out. Will return in the future. Highly recommended
