Prior to arriving at Ashford Castle, we stopped in the town of Cong, at Molly Bloom's, on Main Street, for lunch. It had a small menu, but everything was apparently freshly made on the premises. We had a bowl of delicious homemade tomato/basil soup, followed by an amazing slice of cake. An older woman, who was probably the owner, appeared to keep an eye on her customers, but certainly would easily engage in conversation with a twist of Irish humor, I thought, if so prompted. She had one other woman working for her. I was glad that we stopped there, but felt slightly, like we were intruding in "her" establishment and town.
