“Great break, suites superb”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here for winter break. Lovely house and made really feel at home, by warm reception. Outdoor suites are glorious and no charge for breakfast delivery, other places could learn from!

It's very very relaxed, lots of things to do and no pressure at all. Restaurant could do with a little freshness but food and service was excellent.

Fantastic from start to finish - attended a weding there on Friday 12th October and apart from the room being a bit "compact", everything else was superb from the staff service ethic through the quality of the food. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing serious R+R in beautiful surroundings.

We stayed here for one night in September, and enjoyed it. The drive up from Galway was good although we did get turned around a bit in Cong. It would be great to have some hotel directional signs located in Cong so we knew which way we should go. The GPS didn't work well in Connemara so I 'd suggest getting good directions from the hotel prior to your arrival. Once we got there, we were very impressed with the hotel. It is located in a beautiful setting. We also enjoyed walking to Ashford Castle and wandering around the grounds and in the castle - it took us about 5 - 10 minutes to walk over.

The first room to which we were assigned was a bit of a surpise as it did not have a bathtub. We were soon relocated to a fabulous huge room on a corner, with lots of windows and a small juliette balcony. Very heavenly. We could see the lake in the distance as well.

We had a small lunch in the bar - seafood chowder, chips, and all was delicious. The dinner at Wilde's restaurant was fabulous. I had the beef and Guiness and my husband had the salmon. There were many little courses - with a good tip, we paid 93 euros - I would have happily paid more if necessary. The breakfast was buffet style with lots of options.

The staff was helpful, friendly, and professional. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We booked a one night package as an anniversary treat. Very enjoyable stay with delicious food served in Wildes Restaurant. Best experience. Left totally relaxed and recharged. Cant wait to return. Wonderful staff throughout. Very good value for money.

Have stayed here with a family group five times. It works so well for us as its not too big and always feels homely. The service is always flawless, our main reason for returning so often is the food. It cannot be faulted by any of us... Ever !!
Love it. Please don't change anything :)

Just back from a romantic dinner in lisloughry lodge restaurant on first floor. From the moment we exited the lift we were treated with a warm friendly welcome by the manager (german I think). He asked for our reservation and we were seated next to the window.

This is an upper class restaurant, so men wear suits and women formal dresses with shoulders covered. There is no prices on the menu, which made us feel uncomfortable as we didn't know the price of each dish. It was uncomfortable to ask, with fellow customers near by. I think prices should be placed on the menu. Two courses cost €30 per person, three courses cost €38 per person. We were asked would we like wine, or still or sparkling water. Still is €3 per large glass bottle. The customers at the next table asked for tap water, however we weren't offered that option.

The food was delicous, with a wide range of sea food, beef, chicken and vegatarian options. Between each course a chefs special came out. The first was black pudding wrapped in bread crumbs on a bay leaf which was Mouth watering. The second was a sea food chowder and another chefs special came out before dessert.

I would highly recommened in booking the restaurant early in the week to ensure a reservation. The staff at this hotel are efficient, friendly, hard working and always have a smile. It's one of the many resons why we will be returning to this beautiful gem.

I couldn't disagree more with the previous poster about the food. I was also at a wedding here recently and the food was of the highest quality and as good as I've had at a wedding anywhere. The rooms were also fantastic and although we had one of the nicest rooms in the hotel, I heard many other friends who also stayed commenting on the high standard of their rooms. We ate in Wilde's restaurant on the second night of our stay and the food was once again divine. All staff were professional, friendly and courteous. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
