“Canadian family of two we will be back”

Chi Chi was awesome food was great...We enjoyed the beach access and the pool. Great and friendly staff at the Grill and pascina bar. beautiful people and beach.
It was walking distance to the place where we stayed. Night life is a short walk along the beach.
Salsa de fiesta Playa Larga. During the holidays they had a street party full of families dancing live music, bar to purchase a bottle of rum, and mucho slasa dancing. worth checking out. Friday and Saturday nights the club is open at 10 good music and dancing and lots of good looking Cubans men and women.

Room Tip: we only had access during the day stayed with a Cuban family by Mario Lopez

We were forced to stay there as part of a fishing trip and it was awful. Little chalets with living room and decent size bedroom but super soft, uncomfortable beds. Smelly bathroom, cold showers; unfriendly staff, sometimes even rude; food completely devoid of flavour. If you do have to stay there, go eat across the street and make sure you block all doors and windows because mosquitoes can get really bad at night.

The only blessing of this place was that we only had to stay one night. We were part of a Kuoni 'Secrets of Cuba' tour. There were 5 in our tour group plus driver and guide. We arrived on Sunday and the beach bar area was over run with locals. The beach had broken bottles and general rubbish flotsome.
For the Brits it was like a poorly maintained 'Butlins' with chalet accommodation. The water dripped out of the shower and the bathroom was filthy. The swimming pool was empty and graffiti on the walls so it was possibly some time since it had any water in it.
Our group were the only guests in the hotel and service was non exsistent. The best part of the hotel was leaving

We stayed here as part of an all inclusive tour visiting the Bay of Pigs area. This is not really a fancy place but more of a budget or mid price beach resort. Based on the prices posted at reception it seems to offer good value for someone on a budget. This is not a hotel building -the resort consists of chalets so it looks more like a neighborhood.

Although some things in our room did not work, the staff working at the hotel was very friendly.

Location: The hotel is on the beach but nothing else is within walking distance. The beach is sandy and the water is very shallow so seems like a good place for families. Also there are a lot of crabs in this area which you will see hanging off the roof or walking on the paths at night. We also knew a couple of people that found them in their rooms. They seem to sleep in the day.

Amenities: The chalets had a phone (however, our phone and some other people's phones did not work but we were able to use the phone at reception). We had a fridge but that did not work either. There was a pool but it was closed during our stay.

The hotel had a restaurant and a computer offering internet.

Room Tip: The room did not offer shampoo (just soap) so bring your own toiletries.

Our third visit here and this year was the best yet.
The food this year was even better than last year, similar choices but far better.
They still have their challenges with water but it's possibly out with their control as on one occasion there was no water at all.
The maids offer a laundry service which is excellent, perhaps a little expensive but you really shouldn't mind as people in Cuba don't have much especially in rural areas.

The concrete haciendas were fairly spacious and mine was clean. They are all painted different colors on the outside which makes them a little more festive. The grass in the yards was full of weeds and not very well maintained. The worst part was that the night we were there, the water was not working, so we had to skip a much needed shower. Also, the air conditioning in my bedroom was not working, so I tried to make do by keeping the door open to the other part of the hacienda where it was working. This was marginally successful and unfortunately, it was a hot humid, night.

The bartender was pretty grouchy. The food in the restaurant was good, and breakfast was quite good. They did have an internet connection, but were out of access cards. (a common problem in Cuba). The beach could have been great, but it was not very well maintained. Last of all, come prepared with plenty of bug repellent as this place is loaded with mosquitoes !
