“Day trip to the hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

We visited this hotel as day guests, so we cannot really review things like rooms and room service. However we had the opportunity to sample the pools and restaurants as well as the general facilities of the hotel.
The hotel has one large pool (45 meters). One rarely sees such a large pool in a hotel, 25 meters is usually the norm among good pools. But this hotel has an (almost) Olympic size pool, very pleasant for swimming. There are also some smaller jacuzzi pools, some of them large enough to be used as a main pool! The pool area and the pools themselves are kept very clean, and it is very pleasant to spend time there, enjoying a drink brought by the friendly hotel staff. There is also one pool with water slides, a bit off from the main pools, which is good because water slides can get noisy. The water slides are not very big, but they are very well designed and offer a range from gentle sliding to high-speed splashes.
The hotel is on the beach and actually offers sunbeds and the like for those who want to take a sea dip. However we were so taken with the pools that we didn't take a sea dip this time, although the beach looked very nice.
The restaurant was excellent, we had lunch and dinner there. Great range of choice and food quality; the problem is that you really want to sample everything so that may not be very good for your figure! Good selection of food-time drinks as well (beer - wine - coffees etc).
The hotel itself is excellent, the grounds are extensive and well kept. The atrium / reception opens up to the pool area and overlooks the sea, which gives it an air of openness -- lovely!

A great place! We regret that we only got to stay there as day guests, we will certainly do the full package sometime soon!

Hi, we've booked the hotel ourselves (directly) not through any agency, and arrived on our own (flight to Athens + rented car through a ferry boat). Booking wasn't a pleasant experience: after initial response of the reception desk by email there were no responses to my further questions for few weeks, in spite of reminders. I asked a lot of questions to clarify the standard, having been worried by the other posts on tripadvisor and similar portals. It took weeks to get statements of the hotel including the final price quote and written promise of the requested good room. Also payment wasn't typical - hotel requested full amount in advance to be paid by a bank transfer, but finally they agreed to 30% and the rest paid by VISA cc upon arrival. So before coming we were slightly anxious by these practices and posts.
However, when we finally arrived, we were very positively surprised. In short:

Room: Large and clean, with a large balcony. Cleaning OK.

Waiters/bartenders: Waiters mostly Polish (so we could speak in our own language!), and mostly very nice and helpful, but sometimes lacking some professionalism (young students having summer jobs). Bartenders Greek and not so nice.

Food: Average, but you could always find something edible. We expected slighly better. Especially striking was lack of typical Greek food. Fish/lamb dishes were very infrequent.

Animation team: Room for improvement. Definitely one of the weakest points. Especially care about kids during daylight. Parents: you will not be able to leave your kids and escape. Also evening animations for adults quite boring - every day the same team giving a slightly different concert. No typical Greek shows at all during our 8 days stay.

Beach: Another weak point - the small piece of land between the grass & olive trees orchard and the sea one shouldn't really call a 'beach'.

Swimming pool area: Great, but crowded. Especially irritating was a practice by a lot of tourists to 'reserve' a sunbed by putting a towel or a piece of wardrobe on it and disappearing for hours (making the sunbed under the umbrella not available for others). Hotel service didn't do anything about this practice.

Location: You need a rental car to get to the nearest city. But you can rent easily directly in the hotel. Very isolated and hence quiet place.

The place where the hotel is situated is ideal. From the swimming pool, let's say sun garden, only 3 mtrs to the Ionion sea. Water in different pools is controlled everyday in a lab, twice a days new towels, 3 times a day, if you like, a warm meal. The main meal is great, white tablecloths, some wiatresses dressed in local dresses, colourful and nice, the showcooking, the control over the area. We booked very early for a standard room and got a family suite, which was loverly. Very well organised and very clean, and under good management, That's clear. It's a stay worth, don't doubt about it! You get really a lot for your ALL IN !

Room Tip: The evening shows ended aat 11 p.m. so, quiet a normal hour to get some rest.

We, like so many people, had read reviews on the flooding, but decided to take the plunge (excuse the pun!) after finding a good deal, as the rooms looked so inviting. From the outset, there was nothing we could fault. The staff were attentive, we could always find a sunbed, the rooms were gorgeous (we stayed in a suite near the pool), and the food was amazing. As a vegetarian, I was nervous about coming to an all inclusive hotel, after having only had chips as a choice in previous years. But I was not disappointed. There was so much choice for us both, and we always came away full and happy. The drinks were also very enjoyable, with a fab selection of cocktails to enjoy. I suppose there was very little else to do in the town as it was beginning to shut up for the winter, but this was just what we needed, a place to relax, enjoy some good food, drinks and sunshine.
We wouldn't normally go back to the same place again as there are so many places on our wish list to visit, but for a week's relaxation, we would have no hesitation in returning.

We stayed for a week in August and loved every minute.
On arrival we were upgraded to a sea view room when we had booked a garden view and were shown there straight away. The towels were changed twice a day if required and beach towels were already in your rooms. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean by the hard working chamber maids.
The room was modern and very clean with an amazing view. I would advise anybody booking to go for a sea view room because the hotel is in two parts and if our room had been in the section up by the evening entertainment we would have been disappointed. I'm sure the rooms are just as nice but it felt like a different hotel up there.
The pool area's are gorgeous and there are plenty of sun loungers, but if you want to be around the main pools you had to be up by 7.15am to get one. There were always beds available by the slide pool. There is also waiter service for drinks so never a large queue at the pool bar, or any bar for that matter.
There was plenty to do in the day if you wanted to join in but it was very low key and the entertainment staff didn't nag you. The evening entertainment was the hotel's entertainment staff too. We only went to watch once because we preferred to stay in the main hotel. Maybe they should consider getting the professionals in a couple of times a week.
There are two small beaches which are sand and shingle and it is pebbly going into the sea, so we only paddled.
The food was the same as every other all inclusive I've stayed in with plenty of choice. I especially enjoyed the cakes and pastries. There was a small queue for the main courses in the evening but it wasn't too bad.
What was a bit strange was not all of the drinks were included in the all inclusive package for example if you wanted JD it was 10 euro's. That didn't bother me at all but my husband was a bit peeved.
This hotel is spotlessly clean and all of the staff are extremely helpful. I would definitely like to return one day.

Room Tip: Book a sea view room.

We stayed here for a weeks all inclusive family holiday at the beginning of June 2012. Its a clean and modern hotel with a fab restaurant opening out to amazing sea views. Food and drink choice was great, and available at most times of the day.
The various swimming pools, jacuzzi pool and waterslide pool are clean and well maintained with plentiful sunbeds both around the pools and within the spacious grassed areas facing the sea. There's not much of a beach at the moment, and they are working to improve it, but the quality of the pools more than make up for that.
Some of the rooms are located in an annexe which is a short walk from the main block. Apart from the occasional slightly drainy smells up there, this is a generally quieter area. This is also where the evening entertainment takes place most nights from the 'Jango team', who provide the daytime activities and a consistent bit of quality family evening entertainment perfect for kids and adults alike.
The hotel is out on its own a little, but when you fancy a change of scenery you can get a bus or taxi into the small resport of Tsilivi for a few euros which takes only 10 mins, or on to the main port Zante. You can also buy tickets for trips to see the turtles, the blue caves, the shipwreck and so on from Tsilivi or Zante. All in all a great choice for a relaxing family holiday and would be happy to revisit or recommend to others.

Room Tip: We found our room at the annexe away from the main building a bit small for 2 adults and 2 teenage c...

This is a very good modern family hotel and that coupled with a variety of good food makes it a good base for a relaxing holiday. Some couples may not enjoy it as a lot of young families go to this hotel and of course at evening meal you get a lot of children running about the restaurant with food. The food was very good with a good variety for all nationalities but there does not seem to be many british people going there probably because there is virtually nothing outside the hotel apart from a couple of small shops and a couple of bars.We had a room in the hotel main block and the room was modern, airy and quiet and was kept immaculately clean by the room maid who changes the towels every evening. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool and on the grass and the children seemed to love the small water park. The restaurant is split in two with outside as well as inside seating and there is no need to worry about availability of food as the chefs do a brilliant job keeping the food trays topped and everything including the plates are hot.As far as the drinks go it depends on what you like. With the vodka, gin and whisky you will find international brands on the all inc but if you like brandy this does not come on the all inc and comes out of a large bottle and is bit to be desired so if you want gin and tonic then ask for beefeater or whatever the name brand is on the all inc list you can of course pay extra for the international brands which are not included on the all inc list but the waiting staff will keep you nicely topped up.Last but not least the entertainment is run by a very nice group of brits who do all the daytime activities and the night time shows which are are short distance from the main hotel block and is centred around the Olivia bar.We have usually been critical of hotel entertainment but this team do a lot of their own singing and have numerous costume changes and are a lot better than most hotel entertainment teams. We hired a car for three days and had a good deal through the First Choice rep and if you feel you want to get out for a meal there is a little taverna about 4kms away called the Psarou which is situated at the end of a sandy beach.Overall this is a very good modern clean hotel with good food and very efficient staff.
