“Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

Stayed at the Niriides for a week at the end of August with my wife. Didn't get to hotel till early hours of the morning but there was no problem checking in and they even had the bar open still so that we could get a drink.

Stayed in a studio room which was quite basic but impeccably clean and the maids were round every day to clean. Air Con is a must have at 4 euros a day.

Pool area is great and that is no doubt down to the 2 people running the pool bar Kiril and (I can't remember the girls name unfortunately) do a fantastic job there and are friendly and go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy your time by the pool. No problem getting a sunbed in the sun or shade at any time of the day which is good.

The hotel bar has big screen tv's and shows sky sports which was good, drinks reasonably priced for holiday at 3.50 euro for a large beer and 5e for cocktails.

The hotel has a beach bit but unfortunately it is on a pebble beach (that my wife doesn't like) so we only went there the once, not the hotels fault as I noticed all the beaches down that way were the same.

Greek night at the hotel was a bargain for 10euro (I was full just after the starter buffet)

It's about a 20-30 minute walk into kos town but if your fit enough it's well worth hiring a bike which is 5euro for the day and ride into town or its 1.20 on the bus in and they run until 2am.

For the price we paid for the hotel it was value for money and if I was ever going back to Kos I would not hesitate to book this hotel.

What can i say... A fantastic hotel with fantastic staff!!! We got a fantastic deal on this hotel on a last minute deal and was fantastic value for money. It's a basic hotel with basic facilities so if your looking for 5 star then look else where!!! It's very clean and the service is above and beyond. The pool and pool area are very well maintained and the snack bar is very good value for money. The sports facilities are also very basic but completely safely useable. The beach is a pebble beach, not for me as I don't like the sea but nice for those who do. Mega supermarket down the road can provide all the necessities if your self catering (the supermarket staff/owners are a little grumpy but it adds to the charm) Very close to Kos Town with bike hire readily available and a very frequent reliable bus service costing only €1.10. AMAZING HOLIDAY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND WILL BE VISITING AGAIN!!!

Just arrived back back this fantastic hotel, we travelled with my brother and his wife and had studio apartments (self catering) next to each other at the rear of the hotel overlooking their vegetable garden and the mountains. The rooms were cleaned daily and regular towel and bedding changes. The staff were always on hand to help with any questions and any minor problems resolved immediately. Irania in the Cocktail bar was so friendly the evenings just flew by. We had the best of both worlds as Kos Town was only a 5 minute bus ride away, with the buses running until 2am. 4 euros a day for air conditioning (which you needed as temperatures at the end of August in the 40's). Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We stayed a week in two studio rooms as a family of 4. Rooms both well equipped AC was an extra €4 per room, and in August it was needed. The rooms were cleaned daily, towels changed every other day. Bathrooms had showers only and were tired as was the kitchen section. But not an issue for us. Plenty of hangers in wardrobe! Our rooms were ground level overlooking the back, which was quiet. Greek night was great food excellent and traditional entertainment €10 per head.
Pool area great, never a problem getting beds. Good pool bar serving snacks and light meals. The steps down from the pool area were slippery when wet and a few falls happened during our stay. There are warnings stating this but I think maybe more could be done to make it safe. The beach is across the road, beds are free of charge, course shingle and a mix of sea urchins kept us by the pool. There are a few tavernas across the road on the beach front, all excellent . The bus stops opposite the hotel to go into Kos town, we didn't use it we paid €7 for a taxi. Lots of bars and restaurants in Kos town plenty of nice shops. Trips to turkey go every day from the harbour lots of other trips too. I liked the fact that the bars and restaurants are owned and run by Greeks, with traditional food always an option, not egg and chips or cooked breakfasts served by British people in British owned bars. A great place, will definitely go back in fact looking to book for next year. The hotel bar is run by a great guy who doubles as the receptionist by night, who brought us shots and free drinks, always smiling, sorry cant remember his name. Great family hotel.

This hotel was absolutley lovely. Should be a 4*. We had a lovely sea facing room it was cleaned everyday and the maid even put sweets in the room and made decorations on the bed with napkins. The only down side was the shower was very tiny and you had to pay 5 euros a day for the air con. The staff were very pleasant. The cocktails at the bar were also very nice. Its a great location and the beach was beautiful. Kos town is not very far either on the bus its about 2 euros for a return, I would reccomend going to Paradise Beach for water sports it was very good. Would reccomend and would go back.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view room as the rooms facing in land get very hot.

First of all, I was in Greece before, so I knew what it takes. We were 2 pairs there. The hotel is combination of what people looking for fun and bit of relax wants. Tennis court for free - yeah, a big plus for me. Around a 20 minutes by walk to the center of Kos city - again a big plus for a distance (bus from city till 2 am - night life in Kos every day ;)). The story about hotel itself - staff in the hotel is willing, hotel is nice, room service every day, clean, bathroom little bit small, but no negative feelings, nice view, barbeque, karaoke night..breakfast are almost still the same, but somehow I did like it, dinner is much better and various. Niriides beach in front of hotel - didn't like it, small, little bit ugly, but free sunbeds (doesn't matter - you are not here for staying in the hotel :)) . We had rent a car for 5 days of 11, 10 would be the best option - so many lovely beaches and places :) Island Kos s is a really nice place for a vacation, and hotel Niriides is a really great choice for a base.

Room Tip: sea view is really nice

Our first holiday at Niriiedes Beach hotel last year left us with so many good memories that we decided to return for 2 weeks in August 2012. We are so glad we did, as once again we have had a fantastic relaxing holiday in this lovely hotel which is in a super location along the main coastal road from Psalidi to Kos Town ( please dont let the road put you off as it's not that busy, we always ask for a front room for the great sunsets and sea views) From the pool, outside terrace and front rooms there are fantastic views out across the Aegean sea to Turkey. Niriiedes Beach hotel is very well presented, we have always been more than happy with the cleanliness and service provided. Smaro and Stavros run this family owned hotel and are the perfect hosts who are supported by a very friendly and hard working staff. This brother and sister team and their staff all work very hard to ensure everyone is happy and enjoying their holiday. Before we travelled for our second holiday I emailed to request the room we had the previous year. We recieved such a lovely reply that they would try their best to meet our request (whcih they did) and also asked if we would like anything in our room for our late arrival such as orange juice, water etc which was a very kind thought. Niriiedes and the tavernas situated on the beach just across the road provide us with what we look for in a holiday, not too remote and out of the way but enough so you still get that get away from it all feeling we love with fab weather, great views, good food and wine, friendly staff, lovely walks, and clean and friendly accomodation PERFECT!! We are a little reserved and do tend to choose the quieter side of things enjoying our time on holiday together but Niriiedes also have themed nights and shows some evenings for enterainment giving guests the choice of a more lively evening and if you still want more daytime activities or nightlife Kos Town is a short 5 min bus ride or 20 min brisk walk 30 minute stroll away. The walk is lovely with sea views and a cooling breeze all the way. Kos, especially the Psalidi area is a great place to holiday, it has it all, whatever you look for in a holiday. We are already missing waking up to the warm sunshine and cool breeze, sitting on the balcony with our morning coffee watching the world go by on land and out to sea!! Or relaxing on the balcony glass of wine in hand at the end of each day, chatting and deciding which little beach taverna to eat at in the evening and whether to have the fresh seafood or maybe try a traditional dish, just bliss!!!!!!!!!! Within hours of arriving you can feel the stresses and strains of everyday life melting away and for us that is what we look for in a holiday. We feel really lucky to have found Niriiiedes beach hotel and cant wait to return next year. We hope to visit twice next year and are already counting the days!!!

Thomson excursion ~
This year we booked an early evening visit to the moutain village Zia . When we arrived we were lucky to get a lovely table at the award winning restaurant Oromedom (thanks for the tip Stavros) and enjoyed a fantastic meal looking out to Turkey to watch the amazing sunset in fantastic surroundings.

Room Tip: Studios with sea view look out across to Turkey
