“ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2011

Me and my partner have just come back from a 10 night stay at the Oceanis Beach and Spa Resort in Kos. Over the last few years we have visited many different countries, including the Caribbean , and it has to be said that this beats them all by a mile. The hotel had just been refurbished, and I have never seen anything like it. The lobby is unreal...so modern and bright. It felt as if we had walked into a palace. The rooms were just as amazing, all newly decorated, with a HUGE memory foam bed. The fridge was filled with 2 big bottles of water each day which was really handy. We had only booked a garden view room, but were extremely pleased when we were overlooking a lovely little courtyard with a water feature, AND the sea was just to the left. We were amazed by the view!! The food in the hotel was amazing...MASSIVE selection for breakfast (hot and cold)...lunch was great, with lovely salads as well as hot food, and dinner was lovely, with a large variety of hot and cold foods, and desserts. And whilst we were there they had 2 themed nights, one which was Chinese (which was delicious), and the other was Greek. Also, the one a la carte meal we were entitled to was out of this world, we were greeted with champagne and bread with an olive pesto!! The grounds which surround the hotel are stunning, and me and my partner chose to sit in the gardens, as the pool was a little to hot and you didn't get much of a breeze up there. Also, the beach is quite small and a bit pebbly, but still lovely! It must be said as well, that the staff in the hotel were absolutely amazing, and saw to our every need!! The location of the hotel is perfect, 10 mins drive from Kos Town, which is lovely, and the island is only 45 minutes long. Me and my partner took a beach buggy out for the day, which was one of the best experiences we have had (the rental place is about 100m from the hotel). It was only 50 euros for the day, which we thought was VERY cheap, and we drove all around the island. Overall, there was not ONE complaint i could make about this hotel, and i would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday in GORGEOUS weather, but with the hustle and bustle just 10 mins away!! I am already looking to book again next year!! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, AND THE BEST HOLIDAY WE HAVE HAD TO DATE!!!!!!

We had read the reviews before we left & I even called Thomsons in tears! But they assured me everything was fine!

So I emailed the hotel to confirm whether the spa would be opened. They responded quickly & advised it would not be but made arrangements for us to have a massage at the hotel. The manager of the spa did our massages & the spa has been delayed as they are awating items from Athens, so could understand why this was not available.

The food was good & even though I'm dairy intolerant I was happy that I could always find something to eat.

The resort was fantastic & all the staff were very friendly.

For amazing food go to Mummy's Cooking in Kos Town - proper homemade greek cooking.

The only down side was the way we were treated by Thomson's on the return journey in that we had to stand outside in 35c midday heat for 2.5 hours & to then finally arrive in Gatwick & one of our suitcases has been ripped apart (photo attached) & £225 worth of damage to clothing - Thomsons are going to take 28 days to reply to my complaint! Not really feeling like a premier customer Thomsons!

Room Tip: Put a towel on the floor as the shower will flood!!

We have just returned from an 11 night break at the hotel and it was absolutely lovely! Very fast check in, rooms absolutely spotless and the shower was amazing! Hotel and gardens all beautifully maintained, 2 large pools with plenty of sun beds - we got down to the pool for about 10 each day and there was usually still a few left. Food was delicious and we thought they did a very good variety, much better than a lot of AI hotels we have been to - there was always plenty of dishes to choose from as well as a grill where fresh meat and fish was cooked. Hotel provides towels so dont waste space in your suitcase with a beach towel! Do take a trip into Kos town and Zia both of which are lovely. Beach at the hotel is a bit shingly although very clear water but take a trip to Paradise Beach if you like sandy beaches as this was beautiful. Last but not least the staff really made this hotel - couldnt do enough to help you. Especially Antonis and Stefanos in the restaurant and Paouel at the bar.. We will miss you!!

I've just returned from a weeks stay at the Oceanis and had a lovely time. Most of the recent reviews capture our experience - hotel check-in was exceptionally fast (we used the pre check in so when we got there just needed to pick up the room key and off we went). Staff were all very friendly and helpful, particularly in the restaurant, where considering the hotel was running at full capacity they coped exceptionally well. The food was all a bit samey I found but then most AI hotels are. We were a little disappointed with the Italian restaurant, we found the service and selection of food was quite poor and the only alcoholic beverages on offer (unless you were willing to pay) was beer. It would be good if they offered an alternative choice for ladies who don't like beer! The swimming pools were both large and plenty of sunbeds, although if you wanted a good spot by the pool you'd need to get up early to reserve a bed. I'm not sure how the hotel could get around this unless they were to introduce a no reservation policy. All in all we had a good holiday, the hotel exceeded our expectations and the new refurb has really paid off. We were fortunate enough to take a tour if the spa which opened during our stay and I have to say I was really impressed it looked fantastic. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: As far as we understood rooms are allocated on arrival. The rooms with jacquizzis looked lovely.

Good points:
1.) Staff were lovely and very helpful. (There was a bit of a long waiting time for the reception desk which is the only fault I can find.)
2.) Nice clean room and comfy bed.
3.) Food was amazing - lots of choice and different things every day. A few different places to pick from as well.
4.) Choice of all inclusive drinks was good and it was very easy to get served at the bar.
5.) Lovely swimming pool - there are actually 2 pools and also loungers on the beach area. Plenty of sunloungers at pool / beach. Even at capacity we still managed to find a space during the day.
6.) Nice views from the hotel of the sea, and you can also see Turkey.
7.) Beautiful reception area. Hotel has impressive decor and contempory style. Really feels like a high end resort and we got the wow factor when we first arrived.
8.) There is a small gym at the hotel which we found enjoyable.

Bad points:
1.) Our room leaked on the first night, but this problem was quickly rectified.
2.) When we visited the spa was not open but we were told we could use the facilities at the hotel next door.
3.) A la carte restaurant did not offer a great selection of food. We preferred the all inclusive restaurants.
4.) The beach was full of pebbles, so we tended to stick to the pool.
5.) Take the insect repellent!!!
