My wife and I just returned from a quick excursion that we were able to sneak into our busy scheduled. This was our second visit to the IGP and can’t wait to go back. This is our favorite hotel. When we stay at the Grand we really feel like royalty. Every one of your wants and needs is taken care of. When others reviewers refer to the excellent service, it’s another way of saying that they pamper you so much that you’ll feel like a King or Queen. Whether it’s the finest quality food and liquor which they server or the beautiful well maintained facilities, or the friendliness and eager to please attitude of the staff, this resort is first class all the way.
For those of you who are reading reviews about the Iberostar Grand and trying to decide between it and another property, I would like to call your attention to a few examples of the extra which I believe demonstrate the “added value” offered by the Grand which might not be obvious when looking at the reviews or summary pages on the various web sites.
Golf - I’m not a big golfer but I’m told that the course at the Paraiso complex is absolutely gorgeous and each 7 night stay comes with 2 free rounds.
Food – Top Notch (yea you can find better but you’ll be paying over $100 a plate). Unlimited lobster.
Alcohol – Unlimited top shelf liquor. For instance they serve Grey Goose Vodka
Service – Where else do you get a butler that will unpack your bags or shine your shoes as part of the normal service? 24hour room service.
Room/Facilities - The rooms are really big and very well appointed. Jacuzzi baths in all rooms. The main pool is salt water with is a nice change. No towel cards needs. Complimentary suntan lotion.
Spa – Free use of the spa facilities (Massages and facials are not included). They have 4 or 5 difference types of Jacuzzis and whirlpools and well as a few different types of showers and a heated pool. There is also this reflexology bath where you walk on different type of stones and jets of water shoot out at your feet.
To end this review I would like to recognize some the staff who made the extra effort to ensure everything was perfect during our stay. First Rafeal Carmona and Gabeiel Rodiguez are the General Manager and Resident Mangers respectively. They are great. They are constantly walking around the property chatting with the guest to make sure that everyone is completely satisfied. Guys keep this up, it makes us guest feel special and important to know that you take the time out to talk with us and that you are truly interesting in making sure that we are enjoying our vacations. Next there is the front desk crew. Io’anna, Alilica and all the others who are part of the team, thank you for making sure all the booking and administrative work went so smoothly. Because we are repeat guest our check in process was literally sign on the dotted line and here is your room key. Now we come to a very special and important department , Fanny, Raul and the team of butlers and concierges. These are the guys who are worrying about all the details. If you need anything just ask!!! They are there to please. By the way guys I did notice that you remembered from our last stay that I like it a little cooler in the room and you already had the thermostat set for 18ºC when we checked in. Nice!!! Moving on out the pool area, Lina, Samantha, Monserrat you ladies are wonderful. Besides folding the towels so nicely and keeping the hut organized and clean your friendliness and willingness to engage in conversation is delightful. Of course I need to mention Eder and the rest of the Star Friends. Your personal efforts to make sure everyone is having a great time is very appreciated. Jenny, Abraham, Eduardo and the rest of the staff, kudos to you all. Lastly but surely not least is the restaurant and bar staff. All you guys are great. I’m still amazed how everyone remembers how my wife likes her coffee.
In summary I highly recommend the Iberostar Grand you won’t be disappointed, I know I never am.
