Visited the resort with my wife Jan. 26th thru Feb 2nd 2013.
Victor our butler was great. The one issue we had was with scheduling dinners at the resort. We went after check in as advised to reserve our dinner reservations. When we went to book the reservations there was nothing open before 9pm each night. That is late for my wife and i who are use to much earlier nights since we have young children. We ate at the buffet the first few night which had great options. By the time Wednesday rolled around i was ready to dress up a little and go to one of the more formal restaurants. I explained to Victor the issue we were having with the scheduling of the restaurants, he came to me within hours with reservations for 6:30 each night for a different restaurant. To make it even better Wednesday night we returned from the restaurant to a hot bubble bath and wine for 2.
The entertainment team"star team" were alot of fun at the main pool and kept us all laughing, especially abraham and marco, thanks guys.
Hector The bell boy was very informative on where to visit outside the resort and always had a golf cart ready to drive us around the resort.
My only advise is to make dinner reservations when you book your trip and not wait until you get to the resort. The Italian was amazing.
This was our first stay at Iberostar but will not be our last.

This was our second visit to the Grand and I couldn't wait to return. Everyone in the family had previously been to the hotel except my daughter so we chose the Grand as our yearly mother daughter vacation.

We had an oceanfront room and were hummed to sleep every night by the sound of the sea and woke in the morning to a beautiful sunrise, when the weather permitted.

The service since the last visit had not diminished in any way and the staff was just as accommodating. The reason I love this place so much and will return again and again is mainly due to the cleanliness of the site and employees who seem glad to be there with smiles on their faces, especially Oscar. We found that no matter what we asked for someone was always there to accommodate us.

The only negative point about our trip was the weather. It was cloudy or rainy 5 out of 7 days.

We upgraded to a corner, oceanfront room (7020) and it was amazing. It was quite a distance from the front desk, golfing, shopping and the shows but there were golf carts to take you where you wanted to go. The outdoor pools are beautiful but the water is freezing! They have 8 hot tubs but only the 2 by the indoor pool were working during our visit. The food was good, the employees were amazing! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Go to the "rock" show in the theater, very entertaining. The only other concern was how slippery the walkways and surfaces are when wet, which it rained two of the days during our visit.

Every November, thirty friends from Woodbridge Ontario pack up their golf tools and head out to an exotic hot destination, for a week of golf, fun and friendship. This year our destination was the Iberostar Grand Hotel in Cancun Mexico. After a 20 minute bus ride from the Airport, we finally arrived at our destination. We made our way to the reception desk and were greeted with exotic drinks and an army of staff to take us to our rooms. Wow and wow again. The resort was overwhelming and huge. The architecture made you feel that you were in Rome Italy. Marble and granite everywhere in these massive buildings, connected with covered walkways and round indoor gardens. The ceilings were painted by Michael Angelo's relative. A replica of the Sistine Chapel. The rooms were massive, with roomy washrooms and balconies overlooking the ocean. We quickly unpacked and thirty hungry guys made their way to the restaurant for lunch. The food looked amazing and the staff made us feel like royalty. They cooked everything fresh and delicious. Meats, pasta, pizza, and salads galore. Our glasses were always full of beer, wine and tequila. We walked to the golf coarse and our clubs were ready for us, on carts and ready to go. We played a well kept and challenging golf course and were back at the hotel for a great lunch and then off to the beach. Everything was spotless, on the beach and by the breathtaking pool. The service was great all over the resort. At night there was a huge theatre with incredible singers and dancers and then off to the nightclub or the lobby bar for more fun. I will definitely be back with my girlfriend. I highly recommend this resort.
