“Wonderful Vacations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2009

It was our second time at Iberostar paraiso in Mexico, and third time overall staying in Iberostar. I can only compare Lindo to Del Mar, where we stayed 4 years ago, and planned to stay again, but were upgraded to Lindo. We've been there during week of September 13-20 with 3-year old and my parents.
Still beautiful landscape, but we liked Del Mar section more.
Food - good enough, enjoyed all dishes they served, good selection in "a la carte" restaurants. Our favorite was Japanese (because of fun) and Gourmet (for quality of the food and service). Buffets were usually typical every day with some minor changes.
Room was large enough to put a crib next to king size bed. Air condition was working very well. We stayed at building #54 which was very good, because it was close to everything.
We didn't spend much time in the pool (it was much nicer and cooler at the beach) but it looked very nice and clean, with the exception of bar area, which was crowded and very loud all the time.
Shopping center is really a good addition (that was built after we've been there last time). Prices for souvenirs are pretty much same as in the Playa Del Carmen.
The only thing I can't tolerate - no free WiFi, it is just a joke.... But that is OK, after all you go to Mexico to relax....
Overall - nice, beautiful family resort, without any reserves. Enjoyed every minute and already miss it.

From the moment we stepped out of the shuttle van onto the Iberostar property we were in paradise. This place is everything we had hoped for and more. We thought the food was great, even in the buffets. The desserts were great and the ice cream is the best we have ever had anywhere. I do find it amazing how many different opinions there are regarding the food. This resort's food far surpasses any resorts we have stayed at on the West Coast of Mexico. My Husband is hard to please and he loved it. Enough about the food.
The staff and Star Friends are the best we have ever had also. Every staff member we ran into spoke and understood English enough to fulfill our every need and to just hang out and have a great conversation with us. The shows every night were very entertaining and a whole lot of fun. Not your everyday resort shows.
We did not find that the place was as big as others complained about. The grounds are so beautiful that every walk we saw more beautiful plants, animals and beautiful fountains......we enjoyed every walk. We enjoyed this place so much that we did not bother doing any excursions. I realize not everyone can just kick back and do nothing but fortunately we can. We enjoyed relaxing at the beach in the morning and the pool in the afternoon. This place is immaculate. The beach is cleaned and raked looking beautiful every morning and the grounds are also amazing. I have never seen so many different palms together in one place.
The bartenders at every bar are great. They will get you whatever you want. Some people have said the drinks are weak but that is their fault. The bartenders will make the drinks as strong as you want them. They always had us test them to see if we wanted more alcohol. They are there to please and they do it with a smile and in the bars they will do everything to make you laugh. We had a blast in the Lindo bar with the bartenders Juan & Fili.
The Star Friends kept us laughing during the day and entertained us at night at the shows. Josh & Adrianna always went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everyone was having a good time and had everything they need.
There are photographers that go around with different tame wild life taking pictures and if you have pictures taken with them, then you go to the photo store later and check them out and see if you want to buy them. The pictures are very affordable. We had our pictures taken with 2 parrots and they turned out great.
Don't forget to check out the shopping mall if you go. There is a full service, spa, disco, and some great shops. The taco bar and ice cream bar are part of the "all inclusive" and they are both great.
We will be going back next year and staying longer because 8 days was just not long enough. It was a wonderful vacation but we were not ready to leave yet. We met a bunch of couples on our last night there that we would have loved to have gotten to know better. Many of them were return guests so maybe we will see them again.
Please go here and enjoy a great vacation. Singles, couples and families will all enjoy this beautiful place.

We stayed at the Lindo from Sept. 19th to Sept. 26th. The staff went head over heels to make sure we got what we wanted. Our room was located in building 53 which is half-way between the beach and lobby. Our room was well kept all week and if you wanted something specific in your refrigerator just ask or leave a note. Some people have written about the walking but really unless you have a disability it's not an issue. The grounds are beautiful, and it's like walking in a botanical garden.

The buffets were good, but the air conditioned buffet by the lobby had more variety. We ate at a different ala carte restaurant 5 out of 7 nights. They were all great, don't understand why anyone would complain. Even when we wanted another tray of sushi they brought us another. When my husband wanted filet mignon and fettuccini alfredo they brought both.

The pools are wonderful - one was quiet, one had a large bar under a waterfall, one was for pool games (volleyball, basketball) and a wave pool that went off every hour. Can't forget the lazy river which was bigger then expected. A nice place to relax with a drink after a day in the sun on the beach.

Bartenders were great and a lot of fun. As for the drinks, some have posted they were weak but we just ordered double rum or vodka or whatever. The bartenders were happy to accomodate.

The shows at night were fantastic, very enjoyable. The bar there had all the top shelf liquor you could want. The Star Friends were very friendly and a lot of fun. They went out of their way to entertain everyone whether it was on the beach or in the pool or the shows at night.

The best part of the vacation was the beach - very clean, lots of chairs with large thatch umbrellas. The sand was soft and white - the ocean clear and blue.

We were upgraded from Paraiso del Mar and then in addition got upgraded to Jr Suites. What a gorgeous resort....my only caveat is, there is ALOT of walking due to the immensity of the property. If you need shuttle service it may not be available during the busy season. Food was usual Iberostar excellence, and all of the staff was very, very helpful. Most spoke good English. The pools in this resort are really special. There were some rocks off shore, but not many and those areas were marked with flags. Six of us enjoyed the entire week and are thinking of trying the gorgeous Paraiso Maya next time.

We were originally booked into the del mar, but they closed the del mar for the month of sept so we were put in the Lindo.
As others have said, this is a large resort. We didn't mind the walking, and found ways to minimize the amount of time walking in direst sunlight, because it gets HOT there.(big surprise, eh). Our room was closer to the buffet hall and stage area than the beach, which suited us just fine, as my wife and i did not plan on spending any more than one or two days at the beach.
Making reservations for the ala carte restaurants was easy and quick with the concierge. The japanese, gourmet, and cajun were superb. The steak house was OK, but not as good as the other 3. Room service was quick, but the food was average. The buffet was extensive, and we never had any problem finding something good to eat. The buffet is not fine dining, but it still has a nice variety of things to eat. Most of the soups were lousy, as was the pizza. But there was plenty of other things, so it wasnt a problem.
We took bubba kegs and were glad we did. The bar service was always good, especially during the daytime at the lobby bar with Jesus. He was not shy with the booze, and also was very entertaining and made our stay enjoyable.
The star friends work hard to make things fun and interesting. A few of the shows at night were a little lame, but others were actually quite good. Service at the stage area during shows was spotty at best.
The room was comfortable, the hairdryer a joke. We were satisfied with the room and the maid service was quite good.
The grounds on the resort were immaculate at all times, very impressive. The service was friendly, and a buck or two tip goes a long way. I would recommend the Lindo, it was a great vacation for us.

This area is rightfully known for beautiful, clear water in which you could read the date on a quarter in 4 feet of water, and for the predictable warm, sunny days. Add to that the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo with its lovely setting, meticulously manicured grounds, typical Mexican tiles and warm colors and you cannot go wrong. The restaurants were all very good to say the least. The theme restaurants were stellar due to the delectable delights and the courtesy and efficient service. The wait staff is top notch. We went as a family of three, my wife, our 12 year old son and I. We all loved it and we have been to other resorts in Mexico a half a dozen times. They were all good, but we think this was the best!

My husband and I stayed here from Sept 19-26th. We felt we really didn't need to go anywhere else because we were so happy just to enjoy the resort and relax. The beach was great and so was the food. The specialty restaurants had a nice variety of food. The 'gourmet' restaurant was the only one we were dissapointed in somewhat. Our appetizers and desserts were fabulous, but both entrees, fish and veal were overcooked. We never got to use the catamaran because it was 'too gusty' or 'not enough wind', when we wanted to try them. The only other negative I would mention it the distance to visit other areas. It's not really convenient to get to other attractions unless you're willing to fork over some bucks for taxis and admissions. They are available from the excursion companies, though. For example, a trip to Xel-ha for the two of us would have been $150. Overall though, we enjoyed the resort and would recommend it.
