There are so many wonderful aspects of this place that it is hard to know where to begin. From the moment you arrive you can tell that Maroma is a special place. The staff is there to greet you by name and hand you a delicious Maroma Margarita to start your vacation. The property is so unique and beautiful, impeccably maintained and thoughtfully arranged. Not too big and not too small, Maroma gets it just right. The hospitality staff immediately puts you at ease and takes you on a tour of the grounds while your bags are whisked up to your room. Once again, its hard to describe how fabulous this property is. The beach is gorgeous - as beautiful as any we have been to in Turks & Caicos or other Caribbean island destinations. The sand is as soft and white as those in Destin and parts of northern Florida and the water is a spectacular blue. The rooms are beautiful, and well-maintained, and of course the staff decorates the beds each night in rose petal and leaf designs that are really creative and special. The restaurants are terrific, with great food, great drinks and great service. If you dont see something you want on the menu, just ask your waiter and they will try to make something for you, but with plenty of delicious things to choose from on the menus, i doubt you will have any trouble. As I said already, the rooms, the grounds, the pools and the beach are spectacular, but what truly sets the Maroma apart is the staff and the level of service. Every employee we encountered was happy, smiling and genuinely interested in ensuring that you every need is met and that the resort is exceeding your expectations. And I can assure you they will! They go out of their way to leave you notes each night with helpful information about upcoming activities, such as the Super Bowl party or Grill Night, as well as to as about other ways they can make your stay their special. I dont think I have been to a hotel or resort that gets it as right as the Maroma. I recommend this resort as highly as possible - perfect for any special occasion with your spouse or for the most relaxing vacation imaginable. We enjoyed every aspect of the Maroma, with the hotel staff making it a truly distinctive vacation experience. We will be returning to the Maroma next year, and (like so many others we met) may have finally found the Caribbean vacation destination we return to year after year. Perfecto!

We have been to Maroma 5 times in the past 10 years or so, with our first trip being before it became an Orient-Express hotel. The first time we visited, it was a small, simple and very special place. Orient Express has maintained all of the best parts of the original Maroma and improved it to a point where it is quite possibly the best beach hotel in North America, including all of the Carribean and Mexico. The beach is nothing short of spectacular. The service is the best I have encountered anywhere. The food is absolutely excellent and seems to get better with each visit. Finally, we have stayed in almost every room category from garden rooms (not recommended) to the the one bedroom ocean front suites (used to be called the Sian Nah suites but looks like they may have changed the name). Honestly, the ocean front one bedroom suites are very nice (get one on the second floor) but they are really not necessary here. Given the spectactular beach and views, all you need to make sure is that you get a room with an ocean view. One thing to note, the rooms are not fancy and do not have TVs etc, but the simplicity is what gives them their charm. Overall, Maroma is just a very special place, with wonderful staff, wonderful food and a beautiful beach. It is not to be missed.

My husband and I were lounging on the beach on a lovely 2-person cabana when one of the wait staff surprised us with cold fresh fruit. An hour later he was back with ice cream. The scene was unreal - too perfect to believe. The sand is as fine as powdered sugar. The water is clean and deep blue. Turning away from the beach, we headed back to our villa and enjoyed the heated plunge pool... The room is stunning: indoor and outdoor showers, enormous bathtub, seating area looking out to the ocean. I don't think I want to leave! This resort is truly magical. The drive from the main road take a couple of minutes, and during that drive we entered an oasis. Marona is first class and every detail is perfect. The food is excellent, though I would like more traditional Mexican food on the menu. "Tia" makes homemade corn tortillas and quesadillas at breakfast. You will need a nap after eating breakfast here! If you have not stayed at an Orient Express property, this is a really great one to try.

This was the fourth visit to Maroma, for my wife and I, and i must say it was incredible! When you arrive you immediately feel like you have been transformed into a peaceful paradise away from all the worlds worries and stress.The hotel grounds are impeccably well maintained. The room was kept spotless throughout our stay.It had an elegant rustic authentic Mexican feel to it The beach sand was powdery white and clean. The water was crystal clear.It is no doubt the most beautiful boutique hotel that we have ever stayed at, and we will always rate Maroma on the top in our book.If you like a quiet, elegant without being snobbish boutique hotel,there is none better.But lets get to the real reason it was outstanding.The employees of Maroma Resort. There is a pride and a passion at Maroma that I could see in every employee. They were happy to assist in any way shape or form, and did it with a genuine desire to please. The chef Juan Pablo Loza has created a culinary program that is excellent in every way. He is extremely talented, passionate and innovative as evidenced by every meal that we ate.The foods are all about Mexican flavors and ingredients and traditions. Every meal was presented by a well trained staff who were able to give you a little history of the ingredients and the origin (region) etc. of the particular dish. By far the best meals we have ever experienced at any of the more than 30 Caribbean resort hotels we have stayed at.Breakfast was an extravaganza of freshness and variety. You should go just for that experience alone.There was a different dinner theme every night. Waitstaff, members Moses,Alfonso, Miguel and all of the rest were outstanding! Alejandro and Hector at the beach service were totally "on it". The Maroma airport drivers were great. I could go on and on.
Smiles,pleasantness and excellence in every way are the keywords for Maroma Resort and Spa. We have been travelling the Caribbean for 35 years. Believe me, if you choose Maroma you wont be sorry, but you will be back!
