I stayed at the Be Live Canoa for 5 nights with my girlfriend.
LOCATION: The location is fantastic! The beach and the ocean are just gorgeous. If you are into snorkeling, they placed some big empty spheres in the water at about 100 meters from the beach. These spheres are full of a wonderful variety of fish. It was really impressive swimming over them.
ROOM: This was definitely one of the most disappointing parts of our stay at the Be Live. In the reservation, my girlfriend and I requested a room above the first floor. Even though this is not a binding request, we hoped to have a higher floor because my gf doesn't like the A/C and having an open sliding door at the first floor is not a viable solution -people, animals and insects can easily get in. When we arrived, we were told that there was not even a room available at a higher floor and to ask again the next day after 4PM. We were not allowed leave a note at the check-in desk. Just as FYI, the check-in opens at 3PM, thus 4 PM was a complete no-sense. Anyway, we got to the check-in desk the next day around 3:15PM (right after our lunch) hoping to get a new room. Unfortunately we were left there waiting till 4 o'clock. There were 3 clerks at the desk talking with each other, but still, we were not helped till 4pm. At that point we were given a room at the third floor. We went there to take a look and the room was with two single beds. Really?? After waiting for a whole day, and for 45 minutes in front of the desk, they gave us a two single bed room! This was obviously not an option for me and my girlfriend, so we decided to stay at the current room.
The room was nice, with a king size bed, a couch, a very basic kitchen, a patio and a bathroom.
The bed was comfortable, but the same couldn't be said for the pillows. They were hard and felt like full of hard cotton balls. The A/C smelt a little like mold/humidity. Luckily, since we were at the first floor, the room stayed cool throughout the day and with the ceiling fan we did just fine. At night, we used the ceiling fan, as leaving the patio sliding door was not an option - it was directly facing the pool and we felt not OK with leaving it open at night.
The bathroom was just disappointing. it looked old, with some rusty parts in the ceiling and with an old and rickety bathtub/shower. The hand-towel rail was missing a screw and the cleaning service didn't bother to fix it during the 5 days of our stay. The room cleaning was also not impressive. We had sand and sticky floors for the entire stay.
The safe in the room is optional, so you have to pay for it in case you want to use it.
COMMON AREAS: the pool was nice and there were a lot of beach chairs. The beach was spectacular, but some more beach chairs would be nice to have. If you get there after 11am, you will struggle to find one.
RESTAURANTS: disappointing. The choice of restaurant is a buffet, a Brazilian, a Mexican and a sushi. During our stay, the Mexican, and the sushi were closed the whole time. The Brazilian was closed a few days, but at least we managed to get in once. There is also the Veraclub restaurant, but it is basically another buffet-like restaurant, with some more choices of pasta. However, it is much smaller than the main buffet restaurant, so it has fewer choices.
We tried the main buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Brazilian for dinner and the Veraclub for dinner. The food is very similar across the board, and you will find almost the same stuff everywhere you go. The food quality is only OK, with the worst being the desserts. Even though I have a big sweet tooth, I left most of the desserts I tried on the plate. If I was to recommend one of the restaurants, I would say the main buffet as it has the widest selection among the three we tried.
BARS AND DRINKS: Forget about them. Drinks are bad, period. We tried a Gin Tonic, a Cosmopolitan, a Margarita, a Daiquiri, and a white wine. They were undrinkable. The alcohol used was bad and the taste of the drinks didn't match the expectation at all. We drank water the whole time.
We didn't go to any show at night, so I can't comment on that. But, in case you are interested, there is a small Casino with some roulette, Black Jack and poker tables at less than 5 min drive. There is a free shuttle that takes you to the Casino (and back) from the Be Live. Don't forget to ask the private security guy at the gate to call it, otherwise you might find yourself waiting for 30 mins as we did the first time!
In summary, the location with the beach and the ocean is amazing, rooms are fine (but the cleaning and maintenance have significant room for improvement), the restaurants are OK (those that are actually open), drinks are awful.

As I wrote in several other answer, thanks to the improvement plan we are executing, in three months we will have rooms much more comfortable.
About thematic, we have 4: Gourmet, Japanese, Brazilian and Mexican, plus several not
included options.According to the percentage of occupancy, open every night or on a
Both in the bars and restaurants we made several changes, in order to increase even
more the quality of our offer.
Regarding the shuttle of the Casino, is a free service that is offered and passes by all Hotels, therefore it is necessary wait half hour.
I think what the security guy did is an important detail that deserves to be mentioned positively.
The shuttle service not belong to the Hotels, but is the same casino that offers it.
People who do not want to wait, might take a cab.
