this hotel is not a 5 * we have stayed in better 3* our bathroom was black round the bath ,the bedroom was nice but the hotel needs a refurb , the food is like school diners not good . The price of drinks are DISGRACEFUL we got 3 beers 3 barcardi and coke it was 42 euros .the swimming pools are dirty and if you want to go in indoor pool its 15 euros .this hotel is a buissness hotel not a holiday hotel .On our 2nd day we asked to be moved the thomson rep said we could move to sani beach for 405.22 euros and pay for our own taxi which was 80.00 euros . i have made a complaint to thomsons how can they rate meliton a 5* and sani beach a 5* and charge me an extra 405.22 euros i dont think so ! DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL GO TO SANI BEACH ITS BRILL and the staff are not very nice at the meliton .

Good Position, lovely views, Pay for sea view upgrade, worth it. No tea coffee facilities in room or facility for either after evening meal, which is unacceptable. Otherwise, rooms really good, large with lots of storage, fridge and safe. Large balcony and all very clean. Nice pool area but pools in DESPERATE need of a good clean and my advise is NOT to use the bubble pool by the bar - it is beyond disgustingly dirty. So, take a kettle and swim in the sea. Request high floor in hotel - low floor have trees blocking view.

Far from perfect, but still one of the best choices in the area

On the good side: terrific location, Sithonia is a truly beautiful place and the beaches around are among the nicest in Halkidiki. The Meliton hotel is located in a very large resort with 3 hotels, its own golf course, marina, winery... all pretty nice.

The Meliton hotel is supposed to be the "luxury" one on the resort. But it is actually not a 5 star hotel by Western European standards (would probably be a 3-4 star hotel in many countries).
It is a large hotel, with several 100's rooms and catering mostly to large groups (a lot of Russian and Bulgarian tourists when we were there) => don't expect the bartender to remember your first name and your favourite cocktail... it is really a mass-tourism hotel.

Our room was decent and clean, with a good noise insulation and a nice balcony (we had a see side view) but there was nothing outstanding, the equipment was a bit outdated and the bathroom could have used a bit of renovation.

The beaches, swimming pools, spa facilities are great and were not too crowded (in September), but a lot of additional services are for a fee.
The price / quality ratio of the food is rather poor (the same is true of almost all the restaurants in the near village of Neos Marmaras) and drinks at the pool bar are a rip-off.

We had no specific issue with the service, but there is definitely not a 5 star feeling to it.

Altogether, a rather overpriced hotel with an average service and quality.
But, leaving close to Halkidiki, we unfortunately had the same (or much much worse) experience with a number of hotels there... At least, this one is clean, very well located and you have no bad surprise => it is a decent choice if you want to stay in Halkidiki.

Having read some other reviews I was a bit apprehensive after booking but everything was great. We stayed for seven days and not one meal was cold. The location was brilliant, the waiters in the restaurant were very friendly. In fact we learnt a little bit of greek and in turn taught them a bit of welsh. The room was very nice lovely fresh towels every day, Neos Marmaras was a fantastic find .End of season lots of sales. On the down side The hotel was very expensive 10 euros for a tia maria. Got caught only once then went over the supermarket by the marina everyday. Nothing much to do in the evening at the hotel but again very pleasant evening in town. The thing that let the holiday down most was the Thomson rep. Totally useless. Welcoming meeting most boring and uninformative I've ever been to, We booked to go to Mount Athos and didn't get a rep or a guide to tell us any history which spoilt the trip a bit. Other than those little moans great holiday

We travelled to Porto Carras with Thompson on 3rd September 09, party of 4 Adults. The hotel was clean, rooms huge, with fridge and in room safe. The reception arranged for mini-bar to be emptied, which we requested - to give us room to put our own items in the fridge and avoid the daily "fridge check". No tea or coffee making facilities in the room and NO offer of tea or coffee after evening meal, which was very disappointing. Overall good standard but the pools were dirty and the bubble pool by the bar was really dirty, too dirty to get into.
