This is a small-ish family-orientated hotel in a peaceful and scenic setting outside the village of Kriopigi. The best thing about it (for us) was that the cooking was "earthy", wholesome and completely Greek: not typical restaurant fare, but more like home cooking with plenty of vegetables. Both breakfast and the evening meal are buffets (hot and cold). We stayed for two weeks and the meals were never repettitive.
The owner is an obviously charming man, who often sits and chats with his guests at meal times, but only the Greek ones, as he only speaks Greek.
The staff in general speak enough English. No English tour operators go there, and most guests are Greek, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian etc.
It is generally laid-back and they make no attempt at organised "entertainment" but they do provide board games, giant chess, water-polo net and ball, ping-pong and large TV in the bar area.
The pool is a good size, L-shaped with a small kids pool and a jacuzzi. It was never too busy even though the hotel was full.
The worst thing about the hotel is that you have to cross the main road to get to the beach. It is not a major worry, but I wouldn't let the children go between beach and hotel without an adult. It is about 5 minutes walk through an olive field, across the road, through some steep meadow/woods with wooden stairs as crooked as my teeth!
The stretch of beach nearest to the hotel is mainly sandy with very clear water and not busy. There are busier stretches of beach a few hundred metres away in front of some larger hotels. There is a watersports location quite close. We also visited beaches to the north (kalithea) and south (hanioti) and across the other side of the peninsuar but concluded that the beach nearest the hotel was as good as any.
