“Calm holiday in a peaceful location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

We have just returned from Greece after a two weeks holiday at this hotel. It is rated as a 4star hotel, also according to the signs on the hotel entrance doors. reading the reviews on various websites we were a bit worried but hoped for the best and in the end we had a nice holiday.

Check in - we arrived at around 11am and were ready to go to the beach until the room would be ready at the stated check in time however the room was already available, we asked for a room on a higher floor and the girl at the reception did find one on the 2nd floor! we were helped to carry bags to our room (actually the guy managed to somehow take all of our bags, Fodis i think) and told us about the breakfast and dinner times, safe, spa, air-conditioning and so on, very helpful. we were told that just a small amount was already taken from the credit card and we could pay the rest either on the spot or later on (we ended up paying at check out along with the other expenses we have made). elevators are small, but there is one more on the right side from the entrance and the flight of stairs is also there if one gets impatient. when entering the lobby there was a string egg smell from breakfast i guess so my husband concluded that there is a problem with the ventilation (his professional area:)). it was also quite warm during meals, no AC i guess due to the open terraces.

Beach - clean and sandy with small pebbles, none of the horror we have read in the reviews. the part across the beach bar has no rocks when entering, only sand so perfect for kids and us adults playing ball in the water. the beach to the right from the beach bar has rocks when entering full of those needly sea creatures so be careful, but if you swim just a couple of meters you get again to sand. several rows of loungers, not cramped but not really enough of them. the hotel should consider adding more in the high season. people reserve them by placing towels at 6am i think:) but the beach staff (Jimmy?) removes towels if no one comes at 11 o'clock. 0the set of two sunbeds and the umbrella is 7eur. it was free fro us as we booked directly from the hotel's website (which also meant free access to the spa which is otherwise 10eur per person, and a fruit basket and bottle of greek wine in the room;)). generally the price we got was some 150eur cheaper than what booking.com was offering, plus the free spa/loungers/wine/fruit. you get beach towels in the room which are changed daily. the last few days there was some issue with the towels as neither beach towels nor regular towels were put in the room, probably a laundry problem:( calling the reception usually solved the problem. at the beach there are energetic young waters who ran around taking orders for snacks and drinks which you can charge to the room. wi-fi is available, same password for all territory. kudos to Jovan and NIna and Katerina and Dessi who never seemed to rest!:) there is also a pool above Amos tavena. several showers around, a playground fo kids, a table for pingpong. next to the playgroun you can rent a boat, jet ski and so on. the food and drinks at the beach bar are quite expensive so we saw people bringing drinks from the minimarket at Villa George (right handside from the beach). drinks are twice cheaper and they serve very good fried squid and octopus, loved having lunch there in our swimwear:) some people also choose to reny sun loungers there as it is 4eur per day.

Room - our room was in the main building, i am not sure whether it was deluxe as stated in our reservation as the check in form which we signed said just double :) but we had a sea view and balcony. decently sized room. the third bed was one of those campaign beds which made so much screeching noise each time our daughter moved that we did not sleep much the first night. in the morning we took off the mattress and put it on the floor and asked the reception to give us one more mattress on top of it which was done so good sleep was back. the mattress on the main bed was a bit strange but linen was clean and soft. pillows are too small:( AC worked fine, a bit noisy though. one bottle of free water was provided in the fridge at arrival. a safe deposit box available in the closet. nice bathroom, maybe missing a drape as water was all over the place after we showered:) free toiletries, room cleaned daily. just once it was not cleaned (on a sunday). maybe it was the day off:) the family suits in the building near by looked very nice and well kept.

Lobby - vast and somehow empty but with the best wi-fi connection:) a cocktail bar, you can charge to the room too. always at least 2 persons at the reception. lots of kids having fun as there is enough space for everyone:) in the basement is the miniclub, small shop, spa, a deserted pool table and deserted bar:) i think travel agencies also meet their clients there.

Parking - free guarded parking, not too many spots in the shade, green nicely cut grass and even a church.

Food- we were on half board and the very first night it was a Greek night, everyone greeted with ouzo:) also there was an italian night too:) everything is buffet style. for breakfast a lady is making omelettes, there are several versions of eggs and sausages, but all of them pork, PLS CONSIDER having breakfast meat options for those who do not eat pork. cheeses, pastry, yogurts, fruit and sparkling wine:) dinner - after several days it became a bit boring, the sweets are a disaster:) even on half board drinks must be paid separately, beware that a bottle of mineral water is 4,5eur! small 0,25 Cola is 3eur:) the staff is helpful. no one turned back men in shorts, too hot:) did not really understand the use of the girl who seemed to be helping people find seats as everyone in the end sit where they wanted:) maybe it makes sense for bigger groups of people.

hmm what else. the water was very clean and warm. no animation so it is very relaxing. 99% of people were there with kids. thessaloniki is just one hour away if you wish to go shopping. the village of kryopigi is a couple of kilometers away and Kostas tavern is a good place for lunch;)

thus all in all we had a relaxing holiday, no thrills, but it is probably what we needed:)

Room Tip: upper floors get better sea view above the hotel garden

This hotel is a disaster and no way a five star hotel. It would be three star at maximum.
Also, be careful when you book your room because you might be charged extra upon arrival. They have their tricks. Hotel Management is disrespectful and clueless. And the food is just terrible.
So all in all, stay away from this hotel if you really want to enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: rooms in the hotel next door are probably better

I stayed at the hotel between a few days ago. The location is great , fantastic beach and weather but the behave and working system of hotel management kills all nice fellings. Firstly we arrive to hotel at 2.35pm and our room was not ready . They told us that there is somebody at our room and we should wait at least one hour. Our room was ready at 15.30 ( that is what the reception manager says ) but they informed us by call us that the room is ready at 5pm. Our reservation was for double room but there are two single beds at the room. We asked the hotel reception to change it but reception manager Giorgos Devisiss told us that they are fully booked and they can not do anything. If l want double bed , he advised us to pay extra and go to upper level room. His behave and type of discussion go with the customer is unacceptable. About the room detail they call it deluxe type room but they call all standard rooms as deluxe room . Another detail all the reception employees use name tags at their costumes but Giorgos don't . At first l don't understand why he does not use . After l saw his behave to his staff and customer , it is more easy to understand why he don't use name tag on this clothes. While you are booking the room they told us the room has garden view but they call garage view rooms which look at the trees of garage , garden view became full while booking the room. The AC system works very noisy , the breakfast at the hotel is nightmare and they serve the worst feta cheese at Greece , probably it is the cheapest quality of cheese. The sound insulation of the rooms are very bad. You can easy hear the cry of a baby at your next room or walking noise of the customer who stays at the upper floor room. The good things at the hotel location , beach bar , beach bar staff and Savvas . As a result the daily rate of this room was 146Euro but l am sure you can find more friend and better quality breakfast serving hotel for much cheaper price.

From the moment we transferred from the airport to the hotel (which was seamless) and entered the grand entrance of the Kassandra Palace we knew that we had made the right choice.

The rooms were clean and the air condtioning worked well in tempratures that were over 35 degrees every day!
The food was very good (except for the first morning where there was more flies than food) but this was rectified very quickly the service was very good and the maitre d was very helpful also booking trips etc was very easy there was a bus stop right by the hotel which we used alot to travel around to different cities and you literally walk out of the hotel onto a sandy clean beach. Perfect!

Room Tip: Rooms starting with 300 would be a good choice

We stayed in this hotel in July 2014. It was a peaceful vacation, just what we wanted.
The food is average, we just hoped to have more seafood (after all, we're at the seaside, right), but no. But I couldn't complain.
The whole resort is very cleaned and well-maintained. The rooms are renovated and well furbished, the bathroom spacious and well equipped. I just missed the tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
The prices are pretty high, both at the tavern Amos and the beach bar.
The staff is friendly and smiling, and they made our stay really pleasant.
The worst thing about this hotel is wifi - it is TERRIBLE! Slow and only in the lobby, not in rooms.
All in all, we get what we wanted. Our baby boy enjoyed his holiday and that's more than enough for us!

We like almost everything about the hotel. Expecially the garden (where you can escape from the sun and the heat in the middle of the day), children's playground and beach bar (very kind stuff). The rooms were cleaned every day and new towels were left even if your old ones were not dirty. Breakfast and dinner in HB were great. You are served with fresh orange juice every morning. The beach is nice, it's not with powder sand but with very small pebbles which makes the water crystal clear.
One thing we didn't like...taverna Amos. Its too expensive (9€ chicken soup, you must be kidding?!?), and you wait too long for your order. The main waiter is not well organized and even when taverna is not full you can't order what you want. For example, we ordered fried zukkini and we were told that it's impossible to make that cuz the restaurant is crowded (but that's not my business, right?). But you have not have a choice, except to go somewhere else with a car, so you have to wait in taverna and eat there your lunch.
The other thing that should be enhanced, is the mini market in the hotel, it should be stocked well for a 5 star hotel. You can't find water or other drinks, so you have to buy it from the beach bar. You can find there only chewing gums, chips and something sweet...unnecessary things.
