“value for your money.”

I would like to add my commemts,on this hotel, when i booked this, and told people, where i was going they saidf hav e i checked the tripadvisor,so when i did i was horrifed,to read the reports so much that i didn't sleep that night,,worring what i have spent my money on and was it going to be wasted on this hotel, but all i can say is that some poeple are never happy, with what ever they have,we had a fantastic time, and so did four other couples that we met there, some of the comments, were right, but could be corrected by yourselves, like plastic glasses being chewed around the edge by children, yes that was right, but i only saw two like that over the week that i was thereand there were also disposable ones to use which is what we all used all week..one lady made a comment that you need to like eggs cause there was so many different types, boiled, fried, scrammbled, yes again this is right, but it is great to have a choice each day so you don't get fed up of the same thing each day.there was a huge range of food for breakfast ,lunch and dinner, plus snacks throughtout the day,so if anyone went hungry, then it was their own fault, cause they are fussy eaters. Our bedroom was cleaned everyday, and we also had our bedding and towels changed each day.The entertainment was ok but you get that with most hotels.Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel staff. The only bad thing was that they tried to charge us 3 euros each day for a sun lounger but we refused to pay cause we had 5 sunbeds and there was no way i was spending 15 Euros, each day and a total of 105 euros all week, when i had payed allinclusive in the first place, after the first day he didn't bother us again.Onthe the whole this was a great hoteland was wonderful for kids, there was something going on all the time,we enjoyed ourselves so much that as a group of friends we are thinking of going back next year.,Also i would like to add that people had commented about the food saying it was only warm, but there was a microwave, for you to use if it wasn't hot enough, but i didn't have to use it.Never listen to people that put bad comments on cause they just like pulling people down could they do better themselves, especially peak season when it is mad busy. pool and facilites were cleaned every morning. This was a great hotel,so book it and enjoy your holiday like we did.

My wife & I booked the hotel directly via e-mail, and were given a suite over looking the pool, for 130 Euro/night well below the advertised and Bookings.com rate. The decor was modern, the sofa a little too modern (i.e. uncomfortable), but the rest was great.

The hotel guests mainly seems to be Germans & Austrians, with a few Americans/Canadians thrown in so the breakfast catered for them. There was plenty of room around the pool with a seperate kids pool, so you can relax with out scream kids disturbing you. On most days there were dolphins swimming in the bay and you could see them for the top of the cliff.

The local town of Afitosis loverly, very Greek and friendly, walkable by the road by the beach on the quiet road at the front of the hotel. Two of the local resturants were excellent (The Corner & Christos), and we went back to both.

This hotel was our choice for a small summer vacation by the sea and it turned out great!

The place is recently renovated, very clean, modern and orderly - the pictures from the website are quite accurate (which is a pleasant surprise) and the rooms look exactly as presented. One great thing about the accommodation is that almost every room or suite has a sea-view (at least to some extent).

The location is good - at the end of the small village of Afytos, not too far away - so an evening walk to the center to find a place to dine is a nice option, and at the same time - removed enough as to not be bothered by noise or tourist crowds. The hotel is positioned high above the beach with a great view towards the sea. The path to the seaboard goes down quite a few stairs, but the beach itself is worth it - it's very clean, well tended, sandy with few small pebbles and the water is very clean and quite shallow near the coast.

The food at the restaurant is pleasant but nothing special. The breakfast is good - nothing extraordinary but all what you'd expect is present and in good quality. (really liked the drained yogurt/cream and honey!) The dinner is a buffet, but around noon and until 15:00 you can order whatever you like from a small menu at the restaurant. It proved to be a very good option - both in regards to quality and value for money. (i really recommend the grilled octopus!) For dinner - we stuck to browsing around and finding nice places to dine in the near villages (Afytos and Kalithea. Afytos won hands down.)

All in all it was a great stay and we'd gladly recommend it to anyone especially young couples. A few things could be improved though, like installing a hotel-wide Wi-Fi network would be a plus (right now they only have a few computers at the reception with paid access). Another peculiarity to keep in mind is the lighting in the rooms - it's very romantic and all but quite insufficient especially at night (reading book in bed can be an exercise in stubbornness). Also - for older people and families with small children - the stairs to the beach could be a concern -so keep that in mind (the pools partially compensate for that though).

I'd really recommend it for its quality and location to young couples and companies of friends visiting for a small vacation (about a week) - the beach, the rooms and the food are great for a short amount of time. Longer staying could get boring due to lack of internet and more entertainment in the area.

no value for money at all! In my opinion, the breakfast was poor in compare to the price and hotel level .Room poorly furnished and also smell bad! Not suitable for a 4 stars hotel!

We realy enjoyed staying at the Blue Bay Hotel as the rooms were very clean and had a great view, the breakfast was nice and the staff was very helpfull when we asked for information about the area. Although the lady at the front desk, when we called from the airport to ask for info about how to get at the hotel, she didn't tell us that there was a car that could drive us from the bus stop at the hotel (the hotel is about 2km from the bus stop so bare that in mind!!) and we had to walk with our luggages.
The prices at the pool bar were good and also dont miss to go down the steps that lead to the beach! Its a great route!!

Everything was excellent. The staff was very polite and available at any time. The room was great and clean, and had the best sea view you could ask for.

The restaurant has a great view at the sea, good food, but could offer more options for lunch. Its breakfast has good quality but could offer wider variety.

The pools are very nice and clean. The pool bar offers almost anything you can think of and at very reasonable prices.

The beach is very nice and I have to say that the 160 steps to the beach did not bother us so much.

The village of Afitos is one of the best villages in Halkidiki, keeping its traditional style and offering many good-quality options for eating and drinking. However, we had to be taking our car to the village because although it was at a walking distance, the road was narrow and with poor lightning.

The hotel was great and met all our expectations. We were glad to stay there.
It was a very clean, cosy, small and quiet hotel with friendly staff, good breakfast and a nice clean swimming pool. The room had a balcony with a beatiful seaview. Regular room cleaning and fresh towels.
In a word, we do would stay there again.

  • Liked — Cleanliness
  • Disliked — The hotel restaurant would be open till late evening.
