We just returned from 6 nights at Hotel Le Saint Laurent in Saint Laurent des Arbres, a lovely, small village in Languedoc, about 20 minutes from Avignon. The town, located among the vineyards of the area, is an oasis in an otherwise busy area. It is in an excellent location for touring both Languedoc and Provence. We had a rental car and drove to different sites each day.
The hotel is beautiful and well-run. We had a junior suite, which was nice because it had a sitting room with a second TV and space for storage of clothing. The hotel and rooms are decorated with amazing taste, and the atmosphere is one of tranquillity. The breakfasts are fantastic -- an amazing assortment of breads, pastries, fruits, eggs, cereals, smoked salmon, yogurts -- well worth the price.
Thierry and Christophe, who run the hotel, could not have been more pleasant and accommodating in every way -- we had tons of questions about driving in the area, as well as questions about sites to see. They were wonderful. We would highly recommend the Hotel Le Saint Laurent. We were sad to leave!
