My friend and I found the Bougainvilea restaurant in Corfu town in the Town Hall square. We had a delightful meal there, and enjoyed it so much, we came back again 3 days later. The service was great, Victor our waiter was helpful, attentive but not intrusive. We ordered Saganaki and mushrooms starters respectively. We were also offered fresh bread and a freshly deseeded tomato, olive oil and garlic dip on the house, wish was fabulous. The saganaki was rich and delicious, and could not fault it. The mushrooms were slightly less fantastic and I would probably have the shrimp saganaki the next time. My friend ordered Lamb cutlets and they were superb, the accompanying chips were crisp, and just fantastic.
I ordered a whole grilled Dorado, wish was delicious and moist, and very fresh. The table next to us ordered Kleftiko, which looked and smelled amazing, and after asking our fellow diner, he said it was delicious. We had a bottle of wine as well, and our bill came to 60 Euros for wine, two starters and two mains. We were then offered a Limoncello on the house each as well. We worried the skate boarders on the square would be noisy, but by 8pm it had quietened down and we had a lovely dinner.
The following visit we shared a gorgeous greek salad, with generous helpings of creamy feta, and both had the lamb cutlets, which were grilled to perfection.
