“Nice staff, decent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Sophia village is a great place! A great pool area, with a bench press for the men who want to work out a little bit. The rooms are fantastic, beds are confortable. Nice Kitchenette, the fridge works well. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Staff cleans your room quick and good. Hotel owner doesnt really speak english but her son does. They helped us a bit to get around, or else they called taxis for us. It is close to alot of supermarkets but it is far from Mykonos town and all the shopping and area. It is also kinda far from the beaches. But there was great service and the hotel was good in general, really loved my stay there. There is no A/c but the room was cool enough. Wifi was great, around the pool area and close to the office.

Room Tip: Close to the office as the best rooms, because you are close to the pool and get great quality of wi...

Hotel is located on a hill overlooking the city with very pretty foods. You have to walk up quite a steep hill to get to the hotel from the town but this isn't a problem of you rent an av. There is a Starbucks really close by and supermarkets and small restaurants. The staff are very helpful too

Sofia Village has all the makings of an ideal holiday - close to the town but not right in the thick of it, a pool with a poolside bar and great bartender (George), rooms with fridge, balcony and clothes line and the right mix of people (young and old but all pretty cool). We were picked up from the airport on arrival and dropped off at the port on departure, we did have to wait a while for our room (we had arrived early morning though, so not the hotel's fault). Mostly the service was helpful and friendly from Sofia and her husband, although she did have a few moments but generally, if you're friendly, she's friendly back (she reminds me of many of my Greek aunts). The only drawback to Sofia Village is the super-steep hill you need to climb up to get back from the town. It is not very far, and it is do-able, but you will be panting and sweating by the end of it. My parents gave up and we paid 10 EUR to park our rental car at the bottom of it. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend staying here if you have someone who is less mobile in your group, or young kids, unless you plan to hire a car (totally necessary in Mykonos, if you ask me). Stay here if you want a friendly, easy-going vibe, comfortable and clean but basic rooms, and the luxury of a swimming pool and bar.

ust as we arrived at the hotel Sofia stormed out of her house (which is near the lobby) with some fresh greek pastry she just made and as you expect from greek welcoming big mama she stuffed into our mouths, and man, it was delicious. we got a room right next to the pool, which is open from 08:00 to 00:00 everyday - but still it was not noisy in anyway. the pool is small but great, the bar is good with very good prices (you rather want to get your beer there before going to town at night and get the same beer for 4 times greater price!). The hotel is about ~10- walk to town with a very steep slope - which means a very hard climbing back up, but that wouldn't make me give up this place next time when i am there . The room was simple, but nicely decorated, they cleaned it and changed the towels everyday. WiFi was good and free. As we left Sofia again ran out to give us the yummy pastry hugging and kissing us.

This small hotel provide free transport form/to airport and port.
The WiFi is free and you can catch it in the pool area.
Breakfast are 5EUR extra.
The pool is very nice and the view from the hotel terrific (over the harbour).
The only con is the location. It is around 10 minute walk to town and 20 minute back. The hill is killer :-)

NIce and good place to stay in Mykonos. Great view and people that run the place are very nice. I was picked up at the airport by Sofia. Great and very friendly woman. And George that is running the bar is also very very friendly.
