“Good but has drawbacks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

There's plenty of good stuff about this pretty hotel. The staff are very friendly, polite and incredibly helpful. There is a basic snacks menu and a good drinks menu (excellent milkshakes), although the hotel doesn't mind you buying food and eating it poolside. The rooms (bar the odd ant) and the linen and towels are immaculately clean. The pool is excellent and very refreshing. The breakfast is fresh and there is plenty of choice. Make sure you have an upstairs room at the front of the hotel - this way, it's less noisy (see comment at the end) and you get a sea view. The clientele is very mixed - all nationalities, all ages, families, clubbers, couples and singletons yet everyone respected each other's space.

On the negative side, the poolside loungers are past their best - quite rickety with stained covers. The rooms are quite small and the furniture basic. In the rooms with only a shower, it's like trying to wash inside a plastic bag. It's also a very treacherous walk down the hill into town - it may only take 10 minutes, but there is no pavement and the traffic is insane. Never walk up it at night - the bus (1,60€ each) or taxi (5€) is well worth it.

If you want a peaceful holiday with the sound of the sea lapping on the shore, do not stay here. The hotel is bounded on both sides by roads constantly flowing with traffic. But if you want a friendly and relaxed place just a short hop from a Mykonos Town and you don't mind the noise, this would suit you well.

Yes it's a short walk from town and the scooters and quad bikes are an absolute plague, but having stayed in 2 more Greek Islands since I didn't appreciate the vienoulas enough! The pool is terrific especially in Greek terms, only complaint is the short shower curtain and the flooding if the bathroom when you shower, second person in gets a really raw deal. The owners and staff couldn't have been nicer. I would definitely stay here again!

Only negative the two single beds. The owner and his staff went out of their way to make you feel at home, always had a smile on their faces. Breakfast was plentiful. For the price the rooms were fine.

The hotel staff make this place a pleasure to stay in. Nothing is too much trouble so despite some less than brilliant aspects I'm giving it a very good rating. This was my first visit to Mykonos and I have to say it was not what I was expecting. Having travelled to many Greek islands I was disappointed with its un-Greek like atmosphere. Mykonos town itself was a treacherous fifteen minute walk from the hotel along a road with no pavements and very heavy traffic mainly consisting of scooters or quad bikes driven by idiots with no helmets and very little clothing, three or four people to a bike. The return walk was up and very steep gradient and in the end I resorted to spending two euros on a bus to make the journey each evening. General prices to eat and drink here are high and I spent 50% more than I budgeted for on food and drink. Soft drinks were usually around 3-4 euros and a bottle of basic wine was about 25 euros in most restaurants, particularly those with a sunset view.

Returning to the hotel itself: the pool area was lovely, water reasonable temperature and sufficient sun loungers. The beds and other outdoor furniture were quite old and desperately need replacing, several times when sitting down, screws and bolts came loose and rolled across the tiles! Beach towels are provided and are a bit of a lucky dip, some reasonably newish but several were tatty and with holes. The breakfast basic, bread, ham cheese, a few cereals and hard boiled eggs. There was no fresh fruit or any hot dishes and the orange juice tasted like squash. There is a snack bar, but again limited, one choice of pizza, a toastie or some crisps. Bar prices weren't too bad in comparison with the town bars but again limited choice.

The rooms are quite small, bathroom was tiny, no room to move at all. The beds hard and again the furniture getting past its best. The balcony was only big enough for two tiny chairs so not really feasible to relax on. Air conditioning was efficient but only worked by leaving key in room.

I wouldn't stay here again and despite the lovely couple running the place. It was poor value for money overall.

Mykonos is very noisy with all the scooters with younsters 24/7 on the road on and off to the party-beaches. This hotel is central but nice and quiet, off the road. The pool is great with a nice breeze, lying on a hill. In 5 minutes walk there is the bus station and Mykonos town. Breakfast is superfluous. For late check-out there is possibillity for showering and changing clothes.

A 10 minute walk to Mykonos town, this hotel was a perfect location for us. Beautiful pool, bus stop nearby and exceptional staff providing customer service. Walk to the Winmills, have dinner on the beach below.

The rooms here are a little dated. But... It is within walking distance to Little Venice and the Windmills, a short bus ride to the beach and best of all, the hospitality of the staff was outstanding. They made me feel welcome and "at home" from the moment I walked in the door, offering me a cold drink, suggesting itineraries for how to spend the day and helping out anyway possible... Even getting me a ride to the port with a shuttle that had come to pick up another customer, saving me the taxi fare! The beds were comfortable, breakfast was adequate, wifi was good and the pool was a fantastic place to laze around.
