4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2007

We booked the pension for 3 nights in June. We booked a 2 bedroom with a kitchenette. It was clean and spacious albeit a bit musty. We were able to open windows and air the room out which was fine. The bathroom was adequate size and the air conditioning worked well. The owners were very nice and provided transports to and from port and town as needed. The pool area is really beautiful. It was great being outside the port town which is very busy and touristy. Forget about walking to and from town with all the traffic and lack of lighting at night, it would be dangerous. All in all a nice place to stay and very reasonably priced for Mykonos.

Friendly and quiet environment, very clean and tidy, close to town, delicious food, very reasonable prices, beautiful settings. Near to the airport and main streets that lead to the beaches. Indeed the best souffle in town!!!

Stayed in Arhotiko for five days last September. The hotel is very nice and well decorated. Lovely salty swimming pool and garden. The studios are big and beautiful. Good views froom pool. Excelent priced (70 euros) and very good quality.

Sofia, the owner, is a very polite and helpful. We couldn´t arrive the first day of our reserve but she didn´t charge us. The last day we had a 4 hours delay in our ferry and they come back to the port to pick us up to the hotel again.

The hotel is 5 minutes away (by car) of Mykonos town. Although it´s interesting to rent a car, there is a free transfer service to town up to 22:00.

The only unpleasant think of our stay was the wind, which blew strongly those days in the island and especially in this high point where the hotel is.

Arhontiko is a lovely property but as previous guests state, it's all about Sofia and Takis. They are so helpful and friendly and are there to make sure you enjoy your holiday.
The apartment we had was always spotless and was a good size with a small kitchenette and comfy beds!

There is so few taxis on the island and you can't just hail a taxi, they are all pre-booked (you can call them but again, it's really difficult to get one) so you will need to hire a car/scooter if you'll be travelling around the island or are just in town for the evening.
We walked back from town one night and it was all up hill and took us 40 mins so be prepared.

We would definately stay at Arhontiko again.

Just returned from our first trip to Mykonos and the Arhontiko was a perfect base. As everyone else has mentioned, the owners really are very helpful, you felt part of the family from day one.

The rooms and all communal areas are very nicely designed, with great attention to detail and the whole place is spotless.

It was very windy whilst we were there, which made it a bit hairy on the scooter !

The only gripe I have about Mykonos is the lack of taxis. Even tho Takis the owner will kindly drop guests off in town, you can expect to wait up to 2 hours in peak season for a lift home. The Arhontiko is literally 5 mins drive but it seems to be in the opposite direction to where everyone else is travelling !

We absolutely loved Mykonos. 3 words to describe - Cute, Chic and Windy !

We will be back ...
