“Scenic view at night!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

I ve been visiting Mykonos for the last 4 years. Every time I am there, karavaki is a must visit. Not only for the amazing view but also for the great quality of the food. Service is very good in addition with the low prices for Mykonos standards. Highly recommend it!

“Nicest restaurant in the surroundings of Chora”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

Just close to our hotel, Alkyon,1inside the hotel Vencia there is this marvelous restaurant. Food is really good and cheap, service not pushy at all. Good if you want to have a quiet dinner with your couple with nice view of Chira an the sunset a dinner for two with salad main courses and dessert offered by the house was 50euros!

“Failed to deliver...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

I'm genuinely disappointed not to be able to rate this restaurant as highly as everyone else.
Yes, the location is delightful and the view from 1 of the tables is excellent for sunset.
Yes, the cats are endearing - particularly the gorgeous 4 legged ginger cat which seemed to genuinely know the staff and 'talk to them' - making it clear when it wanted attention!
So where did it fail?
Well - first of all the Service... Despite there only being 3 tables occupied, we were informed by the waiter that none of the tables with any view whatsoever were available! And without apology or attempt to offer us anything pleasant... The hostess then arrived and offered us pretty much any table we wanted!
Secondly the food... A complimentary platter arrived which looked stunning until you realised that the food was stone cold and even close to frozen in the middle... a bit of a shock when it comes to sea-food, which cost us both iffy stomach's the next day...
The ordered Starter and Main Dishes were variable in quality; My partners Sea-Bass was stunning - I know that because for much of the course, he was visiting the gents following the frozen prawns... My Main dish was pretty poor. Described something like 'Prawns and Asparagus cooked in a Vodka and Asparagus Sauce, served with Vermicelli' - The prawns were clearly over-cooked and served 'head-on' - in ribbon pasta... The pasta was under-cooked; definitely the wrong side of Al-Dente... and there was no evidence of Asparagus either in its vegetable form... nor was there any Vodka or asparagus within what turned out to be a rich tomato sauce.
Whilst the wine was fine and prices not excessive for the setting, the food just didn't live up to the menu - with one exception; A complimentary double-dessert arrived which was the right side of divine; and I don't even eat deserts!
Overall, I genuinely wanted to like this restaurant, but the mild case of food poisoning, disappointing service and pretty poor food just don't merit it.
Consider going for an Aperitif before you move on to AVRA or KATERINAS.

“Hidden culinary gem in Mykonos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012 via mobile

We have been here in Mykonos for a week during which we have dined or passed by most top 10 restaurants in and around Mykonos town. We found Karavaki totally by accident although we had many times driven by Hotel Vencia where the restaurant is located. At first we were a bit skeptical whether it will be worth trying but the moment we walked in to the Hotel's reception we sensed we won't be disappointed. A very warm welcome after which we were taken to the restaurant that is outside overlooking Mykonos Town and the Hotel's beautifully lit swimming pool. A very romantic place, especially during and after sunset. At first the Menu seemed a bit limited but we found interesting filo-wrapped fried feta with honey sauce as appetizer, and a stuffed calamari dish and king prawns dish for main courses. And OMG what we received! Each of the dishes was very very very nicely placed on their plates, tasted very delicious and had good portions (size). We also received an amuse bouche and some other complimentary dishes. Dessert was also prepared spot on and service was very good and personalized (thanks Sila!). Wine selection was reasonable and fitting well with the food. After having tried other top-rated restaurants in the island we must concure that this place is truly a hidden gem and beats others here in value-for-money. We have dined in many Michelin star restaurants around Europe and the world, and our experience at Karavaki beats many of them. Relaxed, unpretentious, friendly, top quality and at a very reasonable price. Judge yourself, bon appetit!

“Exceeded our Expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor but no one in our hotel had heard of it. We requested a reservation anyway and the restaurant offered to send a shuttle to pick us up at our hotel in Elia. The driver was extremely friendly and we were greeted sweetly by the hotel and restaurant staff. We were provided with bread, pita, shrimp, spring rolls and more to munch until our food arrived. The food was delicious and the presentations were beautiful. After dinner, we were given huge dessert trays to sample before they drove us back to our hotel. We were there for many hours but were able to enjoy sunset with a very nice view of Mykonos. The entire experience was very special and memorable.
