Mykonos was our first stop on the greek Islands and we made a lot of research on the internet before booking.

The K-Hotels are outside Chora (Mykonos town) but not too far (15 minutes walking). That is not bad at all because it provides an amazing view and quiet nights.

Old travellers may want to rent a car as the walk from the town to the hotel is mostly uphill. The car can also be usefull to get to the remote beaches, but to the most famous ones the bus is a great option and the bus-stop is just outside the hotel.

The rooms are very nice with small fridge, TV, Safebox, Hair Dryer. Our had a double bed and an amazing view of the city, the sea and the famous windmills.

Nice bathroom (a bit small as usual) with a nice shower and the dreaded shower courtains (just move it away and let the bathroom get wet, it dryes quickly).

The hotel has a very nice pool, but we had no chance to use it as we spent our days knowing the island and returning to the hotel at night.

The breakfast is well above the Greek standard. A lot of options and excellent quality.

The Wireless internet connection works only at the lobby and is expensive (5 Euros one hour).

The hotel can send a driver to pick you up and to take you to the port/airport. Book it previously.

After booking was confirmed I received an e-mail asking for our arrival details so the hotel could provide us with transportation. That was really useful and convenient!
The city center is 15 min walk away. There is a scooter-ATV rental near the hotel (ATV for one day costs about 23€, ask for a discount), so you can visit the center and all the beaches with ATV.

Breakfast was delicious with big variety of food. The restaurant at the hotel is quite expensive, you could count on 100€ for a dinner for two persons, I'd recommend you to walk to the city, there are hundreds of other places to eat out!

Swimming pool area is magnificent, exactly as shown on the pics.

The room was quite spacious, with a/c and a small balcony. Bathroom was very small, I couldn't imagine a big person taking shower in there. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

“Very nice and charming complex”

Myconian K Hotel

I was part of a tour and they were taking care of the hotel reservations for us and you always wonder about what will be the reality vs. what you see in the brochure but I was pleasantly surprise. This is not a big hotel thank god…. There are only roughly 60 rooms that look like little maisonettes which h fit well with the décor and are characteristics of the island. The area is very quiet and peaceful.

The complex is not downtown Mykonos which is great by the way. It is a bit remote which allows for an interesting view of the see, the mills and downtown Mykonos. The rooms were clean and large enough with a view either on the see or the pool. The set up with the pool and the restaurant is great.

It takes only 10-15 minutes of walk to go in the centre of Mykonos. You could get to the town either walking, by bus there is a bus stop just in front of the hotel down the hill and you could rent a moto if you would like.

The only negative comment I would have is regarding the employees at the reception. They were not necessarily too nice and interested to offer a great service but I would say they are no different than other hotel employees in this country anyway but at the end of the day it is up to us to take it with a grain of salt

I would definitely recommend this hotel as for me it was a very pleasant experience and I could not have picked a better location myself.

“K Hotels”

Myconian K Hotel

Dec 22, 2007

I know this hotel and have stayed a few times; yes it is out of the town, but to me that is more a blessing than a disadvantage, as you are not so bothered by the motor bikes and cars going 24 x 7.

The walk to town can be a challenge, and remember its easy down the hill but walking back up could be hard for some. Taxis are easily available, and relatively inexpensive.

Mykonos is expensive, with a beer costing around 8Euro in town. Try the K Hotel bar and restaurant, its quick, easy and of a good quality.

Most of the rooms were refurbished this year with new beds and furnishings. The bathrooms are small but functional, and nearly all rooms have balconies with water views. I can’t think of anything better than enjoying the sunset from K Hotels with a cold drink after a relaxing day…

Mario’s the General Manager is normally very available for what seems like 24 hours a day, and is very visible to all guests. Nicoletta the heart of K Hotels looks after all bookings and is one of the best to handle any customer complaints or problems or to give you the inside knowledge on beaches, restaurants etc..

K Hotels has a large number of return customers each year, and I believe that says a lot about the hotel.

K Hotels, may not be for everybody, but for Mykonos, its clean safe and excellent value!

I was in Germany at the time when my then boyfriend and I booked a trip to Mykonos to get away from Germany... We got a fabulous deal from Opodo. After taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel (it only cost a few euros) we checked in and was given our room. The bathroom was super small (as with most European hotels) and we later found dead bugs all in our room.

By just laying on the bed, it would collapse. In the middle of the night, we would have to get up and fix the support boards underneath the very stiff mattress.

The windows/shutters in the hotel do not have screens. I was disappointed that our "sea view" was blocked because we could not open our shutters completely because somebody installed a light post which obstructed the shutter from opening. The front desk would not switch our rooms even after several attempts.

At least the place does have air conditioning. HOWEVER, at check-in they only give you one key. In order for the air conditioning and other electrical applicances to run, your room key must be inserted into a slot and REMAIN THERE. When you leave you're room, say "bye bye" to the air conditioner and expect a hot and muggy room to come back to.

We figured we would "outsmart" the system by requesting another key at the front desk to keep inserted into the slot to keep the a/c running while we were out. Whenever the maid serviced the room, he or she would remove the key anyway and put it on the desk, shutting off the power. Good job.

The TV in the room is about nine inches wide.

The pool is another thing. I jumped right on it and couldn't figure out what was "different" about it. After my eyes and skin started burning, I realized that it was a salt water pool.

I think I remember the hotel featuring a free breakfast. Skip it, it's not worth getting up early to get a slice of salty ham and a piece of toast.

Rent a ATV / 4 Wheeler to cruise along the island. It is definitely worth it. I think it was about 15 Euros a day or so... We were able to fit on one, however I really don't recommend it for two men. Everytime there would be a steep hill (ie driving to Paradise beach and many others) one of us would have to hop off and walk since the ATV didnt have enough "power" to get us both up the hill together.

The ATV is the best way to get from the hotel to the downtown area (and the beaches) safely and quickly. Trust me, walking late at night is not fun and you do run the risk of getting squished. That's the primary reason we got the ATV in the first place.

To go to the beaches you can either take a taxi (too expensive), take the bus (cheaper but takes a while), or the atv (quick, and costs less than two bus rides a day)

REMEMBER WHERE THE GAS STATION IS!!!

There is a free shuttle from the hotel back to the airport. When my boyfriend and I tried to bored, the driver said he only had me on the list. Not that it mattered anyway since the shuttle was EMPTY he made a big deal out of it and went and talked to the front desk. After that it was ok.

The airport is a joke. You dont have to get there too early. Remember to hit up the duty free after you land and before you leave for cheap bottles of liquor.

Overall, Mykonos itself is a GREAT party place for same sex couples and offers breath taking scenery, beaches, and nightlife. Just choose a better hotel.
